New Poll From Lake Research Partners Focuses On Key Voting Bloc
DENVER, Aug. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Can Barack Obama capture the votes of working Americans? Lake Research Partners President Celinda Lake will release a new poll, at 11:30 a.m. on August 25, 2008, on what presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama needs to do to capture the working American vote in the November election. Economic Policy Institute President Larry Mishel will also release an analysis of the economic trends threatening the American Dream and the impact on working families. Change to Win Chair Anna Burger will join other labor leaders to discuss their action agenda and 2008 political program for restoring the American Dream for America's workers.
Change to Win delegates, labor leaders and members will gather in Denver, Colo., for the 2008 Democratic National Convention to promote the Working America Agenda for change. The issues most critical to working America today are reforming our government to make it work for working people again; the right of workers to join a union without fear of employer interference, intimidation, or coercion; affordable health care; a secure retirement; and, building a new green infrastructure to create good jobs and a sustainable economy for the next generation.

The American Labor movement has invested HEAVILY in this election. Sure hope it's not "business as usual" WHEN Obama is elected. Hopefully, we will make gains in the Senate & have a clear mandate for CHANGE....
