For those who say unions aren't needed anymore
---

I say bullshit.
Collective bargaining and protection are needed now more than ever considering the economic climate we live under.

Who will negotiate your bargaining agreement or MOU?
Who will go to management (so you don't get labeled as an individual) and tell them straight up, without mincing words, how the policies they enact affect you (labor).
Who will go with you to disciplinary hearings to witness and argue on your behalf?
Who will provide attorney service, if need be?
Who will help you file a grievance?
Who will fight for fairness, equity, and safety in your workplace?

I am a Chief Steward in the Teamsters Union where I work and we do all the above with success.
So again I say to all those who claim that the days of unions are long past and not needed...BULLSHIT.

1. If they were not still needed, the repukes wouldn't be trying to get rid of them.

4. If IT workers had organized ten years ago they might still have jobs

The first thing a strong union will write into
a contract is a clause that prevents sub-contracting
non union labor.

That's why the right wing hates the UAW, UMW, CMW,
CUPE and the IWA because they are strong and internationally
affiliated.
