...... dispossessed in one of these garden spots and frankly it's hard to work up too much sympathy. I guess I'm just not sophisticated enough or sufficiently ambitious. I see these people and I wonder how one babysits grandchildren and goes to school plays from Paradise. I wonder if these are the same folks who raised their own kids seeing grandparents once a year, guests in the lives of their own family.
I have a peculiar notion about family values. Sure, I moved away from home right after college, and I moved back to be closer to my family a few years later. I'm not rich, but I'm also not physically disconnected from the lives of my family. I'm in the pictures and the memories.
