The U.S. Occupational Safety & Health Administration is investigating Monday's falling death of a 37-year-old sheet metal worker from Valparaiso.

Ronald A. Moser was working on a metal section of the roof at a new Gas City fueling station in New Lenox, Ill., when he fell through a nearby plastic corrugated roof covering an outdoor garden center, said New Lenox Police Chief Daniel Martin.

Moser fell 15 feet and struck his head on the way down on a metal cage housing propane gas tanks, Martin said.

Moser was taken to Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet, where he was pronounced dead at 12:08 p.m. as a result of head trauma, according to the Will County coroner's office.

The coroner's office planned to conduct an autopsy.

Moser was working for a subcontractor at the time of the accident.
