Immokalee Workers Head To Chicago On Heels Of McDonald's Victory

Immokalee Workers Head To Chicago On Heels Of McDonald's Victory - 04/11/07

By Doug Cunningham

The Coalition of Immokalee Workers have an agreement with McDonald's restaurants and their suppliers that improves conditions for workers in the field. Workers will get a penny more per pound of harvested tomatoes, a stronger labor code of conduct for suppliers and a collaborative effort to monitor conditions for workers in the fields. The Campaign for Fair Food continues as the Coalition of Immokalee Workers takes its 2007 McDonald's Truth Tour to Chicago on April 13th and 14th. It's an ongoing effort to achieve farm worker justice.
