The UAW says DaimlerChrysler’s announcement that it’s investing a billion dollars in new and expanded factories in metro Detroit is great news for the UAW-represented workers at Chrysler and for the state of Michigan. UAW President Ron Gettelfinger says with these serious new resources from the company Chrysler has the opportunity to enhance its competitive position in the auto industry.
