This clip played on Fox News Special Report on March 13, I believe. It's a fiery sermon from Reverend Wright. Check out the very last frame in the clip (at the :11 mark). The slimy FauxNews propagandists have inserted the image of Obama below...but if you look closely you'll see he's NOT in the church.

There they go again...

12. Swiftboatng pretty much always works, unless the victim gets out there
and responds hard and fast—and repeatedly. Swiftboating isn’t new; it’s just a new name for the worst sort of mudlsinging. The Clinton campaigns in 1992 and 1996 had the right idea. Their “War Room” responded immediately, within the same news cycle, to the slander the lies Republican propaganda machine spread. Kerry thought he could stay above the fray and look presidential by not responding to obvious lies. He ebleived that "the peopel who count the most" would never belive such obvious nonsense. But the American people are extraordinarily ignorant and easily swayed by propaganda, so there is no way to stay above the fray. The candidate has to get down into it and swing hard.

"The people who count the most" in an election are the voters, and they will believe anything. They believed that John Kerry, a genuine war hero, was a coward and that Bush, a genuine coward who went AWOL during the war, even affter getting a safe, cushy berth in TANG, was the brave and honest one. They believed that Max Cleland, who lost three limbs in Vietnam, was unpatriotic. They believed that Saddam was in cahoots with Al Quaeda and personally directed 9/11.

20. agree
ignoring obvious slime doesn't work. Counter-slime through surrogates is more likely to be a winning strategy. I'm sorry if this is beneath some people's standards, but I think there is no other way to win. You can blather about America and our heritage all day long but the nitty gritty is that the American people elected and re-elected GWB in the last two Presidential elections. Our standards are in the gutter. Wake up or lose.

I believe the correct counter-slime for Obama/Wright is McCain/Falwell. Recall that McCain denounced Falwell in the 2000 primary season. Falwell later blamed the United States for the 9-11 attacks because of our tolerance for gays. In other words, God damned America. He has also stated that Jews can not attain salvation and that the Prophet Mohammed was a terrorist. Fast-forward to 2006 and John McCain gives a commencement speech at Falwell's Liberty University. Political ambition trumps all. I have yet to hear McCain/Falwell mentioned in a story about Obama/Wright.

19. Forget and forgive? NEVER!
An excerpt:

"God damn America for treating our citizens as less than human. God damn America for as long as she acts like she is God and she is supreme."

Forget and forgive? Why? Why another free pass to a sub-par candidate?

Get stupid trash about both Clinton AND Obama in the media spotlight.

Meanwhile, John McCain the campaign finance reformer continues to flout public financing rules.

16. I don't think that is Obama. It looks a lot like him though.
Look at the eye and chin. They eyes have a sleepy look and his chin sticks out more than Obama's.

17. I heard a reporter on CNN
yesterday, on one of their weekend political programs, say, watch out there are more videos to come. He slyly hinted they have some showing Obama in the congregation during these 'outrageous' sermons.
You know damn well everybody is scrambling to get them and grab the hottest headline.

18. it's Obama... it's just not Obama at the church during the sermon...
I know it's a common desire to try to make every aspect of a piece of supposed evidence seem fraudulent, but there's no need to jump to some strange "body double" or stand in thing.

The lie is in the implied location on the tape, not in the identity of the person on tape.
