Interesting to look at the race from a non-American perspective....

1. Scared of change. Yet the coal companies are literally raping them of wealth.
You can't win if you don't fight. You simply can't. If you stand quiet about the high unemployment and the decaying neighborhoods with only the coal companies making the big bucks, nothing will change, and people will still be poor, envying the coal company executives who walked away with essentially their wealth. You just have to fight and be open to change because this is no way to live.

5. It's not Bush
Our media is lazy and for profit, so they have to sensationalize everything to get ratings and increase advertising revenue...which leads to poor journalism.

16. Basically I hope for the day when MSM will "somewhat" educate and go strait for the facts only.

The most I can get from that in the U.S. is PBS or CSPAN.

6. A biased view of bigots? How is this edifying?
I appreciate your posting the link as information but I don't see how this informs anyone.

9. Because I phrased it poorly
I mean, one culture's perspective of a culture they don't understand. There are the acceptances, etc, of one culture profoundly removed from another culture, steeped in distorted information. There's as much a biased anti-US curve to EU press reporting as there is in US journalism. Let's see the reverse perspective -- do we really think that would be edifying either?

10. Oh.
Well, I've always been interested in how the US is covered in the foreign press and how they're looking at the Primary. It interests me. It's kind of like eavesdropping on a conversation that people are having about you, you know?

12. I believe that being able to see the US without the rose colored filter is a good thing.
If you think that seeing this report is not valuable in any way, that is your opinion, and you are welcome to it.

However, there is great value in seeing what the world see's without being led down the rosy path of the MSM.

The pictures of Poverty alone are important, as it says just as much about the ignorance of our Government as it does for those that are trained to tolerate it, either through lack of education, fear or being led to believe that it is their station in life.

I can show you the same pictures in any state of this union, but I believe that the video showcases the essence of the state of West Virginia.

I had personally done my own research on the state to see why there would be such bigotry, and all one needs to do is go to Google and get a lesson. The story presented just solidified it for me.

Good catch and kudos to the original poster for finding this and spending valuable time to post it. It puts West Virginia into context for me.

Now as for the jingo of "No President in History has ever won the White House without winning West Virginia" that Clinton keeps touting... It's time for a change.

13. They see through their own tinted glasses
Just because they have a jaundiced view, doesn't make it a correct one. I wonder what West Virginians would have to say about Russians. I doubt it would be any more informative of anything but local biases, just as in this case.

14. These are my lifelong neighbors
and that IS the WV I've always known.
They don't like change.

As a sidenote, it's probably the most beautiful state I've ever visited.

17. And you are looking from outside in also
You also are clearly biased against them.

"They" are a state with individual humans inside it. "They" don't have a single opinion about anything.

15. W. Va has the nation's lowest HS graduation rate. McCain would beat Obama by 20 pts.
That sounds like a microcosm of how this nation has voted in the last couple of presidential elections. Appeal to the uneducated and ignorant and exploit their fears.

18. It also has wrenching poverty -- there is a reason for everything
Even low high school graduation rates.

Children have to go to work to support families, etc, etc.
