In order to rally people, governments need enemies. They want us to be afraid, to hate, so we will rally behind them.
And if they do not have a real enemy, they will invent one in order to mobilize us. All intelligent people know George never gave up alcohol. We certainly wouldn’t have voted for a man who slaughters syntax, forgets names and events and speaks like a pupil of a Learning Disability Center if we thought he was doing so while sober. He became a Born Again Fundamentalist Christian instead of enrolling in Twelve Step programs for his alcoholism and cocaine addiction and has acted like a serious dry-drunk in public several times. Let me just say that severe alcoholics' competence rapidly degrades, their attitudes either become uncaring, depressed, or paranoid and hostile.
