3. he's going to go into History for his unusually professional sounding speech. |

It's going to be talked about for years and the standard to be compared to. Because of that, it will be in the books.

Excellent speech. He made some strong points, too (for example the point about a normal guy having to work a year to make what an average CEO makes in a day). I hope the people will listen.

not only with what he said, but with his delivery.
He spoke eloquently and forcefully. I was surprised that they chose him being that he's been in Congress for less than a month, but I don't think they could have made a better choice.

do people bang on about the "greatest nation" bullshit. What metric is used? No country is the greatest. Thinking the US is the greatest is exactly the same mindset that allows the US to do what it wants to further its own agenda, at the expense of other nations and peoples. It's happened to other countries in the past (yes, Germany). It's a disgusting, crass assertion, which completely belies his objectivity.

I think drumming the "greatest nation on earth" bullshit just lulls people into complacency. If the US is the best, then surely the voting public can rest easy, no? It's a dangerous, dangerous game. Even if we agree with everything else said, we shouldn't let emotive crap like that pass without comment.
