I love the final electoral vote projection. No WAY could they steal the election again with that wide a margin!

But, I think he's seriously underplaying the amount of effort it would take to deliver the election. I would make a couple of comments:
1) Michigan is not an Obama lock. I wouldn't even call it leaning Obama at this point - Hillary made good and sure of that. I would also call Florida a likely McCain state, for the same reason. The state legislatures absolutely screwed us in those states, and Hillary took the bait and made DAMN sure that those 2 states were a loser for any Democrat, other than her, of course.
2) New Jersey is also not a lock - While still a "blue state", it's been trending Republican for years now, and the fact that McKeating isn't a religious nut will help him there. The only question is, will a cash-starved McCain spend money to try and win there, in the most expensive media state in the US?
3) North Dakota *will* go to McCain.
4) Don't count out Georgia. With Barr in the race, the religious right having some serious concerns about a McKeating candidacy, and the second-highest proportion of African-American voters in the country, we may see an upset there. SC too, for the same reasons, although a little less likely.

I have another thing I've been saying: "How experienced is John McCain? John McCain was in the Senate, taking cash, and doing favors for Charles Keating back when Barack Obama was still attending Harvard Law School!"
We really need to hang the Keating thing around his neck - he's a crook, and that proves it.

7. Actually, all the polls I've seen in the last two weeks |

have had Hillary behind McCain in Michigan as well. It will be especially difficult for Obama there if Romney fills out the GOP ticket.
I agree with the all the rest of what you say. How do they reach the conclusion that Obama will win North Dakota?

9. When one thinks about it... |

Obama's path to 270 is fairly easy (assuming he can hold onto Michigan and Pennsylvania). Even if he doesn't manage to flip Colorado and N. Mexico, he can win by taking either Ohio, N. Carolina, or Virginia.

12. Don't ignore Bob Barr! |
|
I really believe Barr can flip up to a dozen states in the south and west, I also remember that in 1980, Libertarian Ed Clark got 12 % of the vote in Alaska. I really think if Barr gets traction, the south will crack down the middle and the western states including Alaska will go to Obama. Nice to see Mc Keating get Nadered!

Would love a landslide! But we have five months to go... And a bitter, nasty, racist battle ahead if what went before holds on.
