Look familiar to anyone? Rove Plant? PUMA plant? Just a poor deranged individual who will now be hounded relentlessly by media?

Unfortunately for him we will have to find out because you know Obama's going to get accused of him being a plant from inside the campaign, considering how well this incident ended up being played by the media. Maybe it's a super-Rove double supe and he had some guy sign up as an Obama volunteer just to try to get that to happen.

Let's hope if he's just a little off that his 15 minutes of fame don't send him over the edge and pass quickly and painlessly.

2. Why won't he just give his name? Very odd. You've done something good, but won't give your name?
"This is a free country" but you DAMN well better say the Pledge of Allegiance or ELSE according to what's-'is-name.

What is patriotism that is mandated? What would our country be like if there were many thousands of this guy?

It's scarey when people mistake symbols for the things that symbols are only supposed to refer to.

Edited on Tue Aug-05-08 11:22 PM by DUlover2909
Second of all, do I have to pledge my allegiance to a fucking symbol or a piece of colored cloth before I start a meeting in this country? Here's my pledge:

I pledge my allegiance to the Democratic Party of the United States of America, and to the Constitution for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

7. Oh, he is definitely right-wing!
Nobody gets that upset, won't give their name or say who they work for, and says "your governor and your senator" unless they are infiltrating the 'damned liberals.' He's a bit unhinged IMO.

He didn't appear to be taking pictures, I doubt he knows how to work a Camera
He should have been followed
Obama Secret Service detail sucks. WE laugh at how fast they remove people at McCain event but I think that is the right thing to do.

10. I often wonder if these conservatives
who get all worked-up over the Pledge realize it was conceived in reaction to the Civil War. The idea was to plant the idea in children's heads daily that this is an "indivisible" nation, not a club that one can join or leave as one sees fit. Not an idea calculated to please people of a libertarian stripe, or the southern branch of the GOP!

13. His media pass
You know only a select number of people get those passes and you better believe Obama knew who this individual was afterwards. I don't think we'll see him ever again as I don't think he'll be given a press pass again. This is assuming he was given a pass in the first place and it wasn't a fake.

17. The heckler appears to have the tip of his right hand ring-finger
missing. He seems to have a military bearing about him. He snapped off a fairly good salute, stood at "parade-rest", said "sir" alot. My guess, former Marine. His photographic equipment is good stuff but he handles is like an amateur. His complete lack of respect for the actual journalists questioning him exposes him a a non-journalist. Could be a free-lance nut-case but I kinda doubt it.

25. I guarantee you this man has never served
Like most histrionic right wingers he fantasizes about being a patriot but never had the balls to actually sign the dotted line join the military.

If anything else comes out about this guy, it will definately show that he never served. His comment about his father and cousin serving further proves that he didn't. If he had, he would have definately mentioned it.

What a pissy little wimp.

18. Rigidity and obsessiveness in his demeanor
The desire to be the center of attention. No social skills. Extremely narcissistic.

Definitely a nut case of some sort. I have to deal with someone with similar behavior.

He may be an overly dramatic or histrionic person and/or maybe narcissitic.

He could be quite successful in his work but difficult to be around.

Histrionic (Hysterical) Personality: People with a histrionic personality conspicuously seek attention, are dramatic and excessively emotional, and are overly concerned with appearance. Their lively, expressive manner results in easily established but often superficial and transient relationships. Their expression of emotions often seems exaggerated, childish, and contrived to evoke sympathy or attention (often erotic or sexual) from others.

People with a histrionic personality are prone to sexually provocative behavior or to sexualizing nonsexual relationships. However, they may not really want a sexual relationship; rather, their seductive behavior often masks their wish to be dependent and protected. Some people with a histrionic personality also are hypochondriacal and exaggerate their physical problems to get the attention they need.

Narcissistic Personality: People with a narcissistic personality have a sense of superiority, a need for admiration, and a lack of empathy. They have an exaggerated belief in their own value or importance, which is what therapists call grandiosity. They may be extremely sensitive to failure, defeat, or criticism. When confronted by a failure to fulfill their high opinion of themselves, they can easily become enraged or severely depressed. Because they believe themselves to be superior in their relationships with other people, they expect to be admired and often suspect that others envy them. They believe they are entitled to having their needs met without waiting, so they exploit others, whose needs or beliefs they deem to be less important. Their behavior is usually offensive to others, who view them as being self-centered, arrogant, or selfish. This personality disorder typically occurs in high achievers, although it may also occur in people with few achievements.

20. John Quinn of Parma
Edited on Wed Aug-06-08 04:36 AM by blogslut
According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer:

http://www.cleveland.com/news/index.ssf/2008/08/obama_unfazed_by_heckler.html

And according to this blogger, the man is a registered Republican and was born in 1962:

http://www.buckeyestateblog.com/registered_goper_interrupts_obama_town_hall_in_berea_today

I find the birthdate of 1962 very interesting because Mr. Quinn claims that his father served in WWII. Mind you, it's not impossible, just unusual. For example, my father, if he were still alive, would be 81. He was too young to serve in WWII. Instead, he served during the Korean War.

I'm not saying that Mr. Quinn is lying but I have my doubts about the authenticity of his pedigree. As far as his attempts to appear soldierly while calling for the pledge, I am reminded of a little boy playing an imagination game.

26. I'm a year younger than Quinn and both my parents were in uniform in WWII
they were just kids (16-17) when they joined up and that was at the tail end of the war (44-45)

My dad joined the Merchant Marine at 16 and my mum joined the Royal Navy (WRNS) at 17.

21. Point of order Mr Quinn-It wasn't the beginning of the meeting.
HAHAHA Mr Quinn is right a town hall meeting should start with the pledge of allegiance. The only thing is that by the time BO got on stage the meeting was nearly over.

That is like standing up during the second course at a dinner and yelling out "Every dinner should start by saying grace." Well yes. That would be respectful but it would have been more appropriate if you had thought of it sooner. Like BEFORE dinner started.

Much like Mr Quinn. It would have been appropriate to say the pledge at the BEGINNING of the meeting. But then he could not have to opportunity to grandstand from the press stand.

BTW Dija notice he looks like a little less self abused Bill Murray?? B-)
