...these whackadoes have dominated the media for a decade with their two minute hate on a loop. Now they are trying to mask their bullshit by calling it comedy and air it on a "news" channel. It makes the rest of the channel look ridiculous, exposes their bias quite plainly, and gives us permission to be even less subtle with our humor and barbs aimed at them.

wow this is bad. Not even in a good way. And the fact that they are airing it on a supposedly "fair and balanced news" channel says a lot about them as well. Then again, FAUX "News" was never much more than bad attempts at entertainment in the first place.

I look at it this way: The Daily Show has been noted for being comedy which appeals to an educated audience - you have to have a pretty good grasp of what's going on to get all of the jokes which are all based on reality. So I guess this show is a comedy which appeals to the uneducated who laugh at completely made up bullshit.

25. This reminds of me when I was in Architecture school...

Every once in a while someone in our studio would come in with a real crapper of a design. Most of the time they knew it was bad, and would admit it freely to the rest of us. Regardless, they were forced to pin up their work, display their models, and talk about the design concept, ect. for a panel of reviewers.

EVERYONE knew it was a P.O.S. but everyone would sit through the presentation and hope that there would at least be something of merit about the project. Plus, we were all friends and wanted to be respectful. Alas, at the completion of the presentation, it was still a P.O.S.

That is what this show is like. NO ONE can possibly like this or think it is funny. I'm embarrassed for the people who came up with the idea.

26. Republican humor CAN be funny

but it almost never is because they are mean, unfair, hypocritical and almost always hit you over the head with the joke. Going after oil tycoons and millionaire CEOs is more funny than going after single mother's in desperate poverty. Humor from the other side like, say John Stewart goes after whoever needs going after and does it in a fair, non-below the belt kind of way. Endless jokes about, Obama's middle name is Hussein or 'welfare moms are greedy' is not funny to anyone except I suppose the people who wrote it (and only because they were on oxycontin.) Jokes about the changing reasons for the Iraq war and the media's obsession over local stories about missing blond girl's - now that's something to go after, not someone's freaking middle name!

The 1/2 Hour News Hour starts with a short, SNL-style skit: it's Jan. 21, 2009 in the Oval Office. Rush Limbaugh is president, which certainly bodes well for the future of government-sponsored drug plans. And Ann Coulter is vice-president though, even in this exalted position, she continues to look like a dime-store hooker blitzed on diazepam.
