4. John didn't dump Elizabeth |
|
or scorn her for being sick, I don't see how his affair can be construed as worse than McIcky's affairs. I'm not going to try to justify Edwards' affair but Elizabeth evidently forgave him for it and they're still together. I think that says a lot about their love for one another. Maybe that love makes it a bigger betrayal, I don't know.
Ike had a mistress, JFK had lots of affairs, LBJ had affairs, Nixon was just evil, I doubt Jimmy Carter did but he admittedly had lust in his heart (I love that guy, I can't help it) Bush I had a mistress, we all know about Bill (ad nauseum)and who the hell knows about Shrub but the immorality of an affair really pales in comparison to what we know Shrub has done. I propose that to solve this problem we only allow eunuchs to serve the office of presidency.

6. Why would that disqualify JE from any office? If that were true |
|
(being disqualified) that would probably cover about half the politicians in office now, wouldn't it?

8. not in relationship to his spouse but to the party - yes |
|
After seeing the harm that Clinton's infidelity caused for Edwards to have the nerve to run for president is disgusting.
He and Elizabeth are working out their own issues and John appears to have settled things with her to her satisfaction and that is their business. As far as McCain, he screwed over his wife and kids without so much as a bullshit I'm sorry, which is all a spouse who leaves a marriage the way he did, can offer. As far as being a decent family man, at least John owned up to his stupid, arrogant mistake and did the right thing - that isn't possible for McCain.
