3. He admits to having a trauma in his life which causes him to make mistakes
so the gop puts forth that 71 year old man to have control of the world's larget nuclear arsenal ??? I guess if you are a "conservative" who has never served in the military that scenario is just fine and fucking dandy with you.

5. OMG!! He actually said, "I spent some years without a kitchen table..." All this time, whenever I
saw a reference to that, I thought it was a joke.

He actually SAID THAT?!!?!!

Too hilarious for words. He has devalued the one thing that some people still respect him for.

9. What about our homeless vets that don't have kitchen tables now?
McCain denies them health care and adequate treatment for their PTSD so they can't get their lives together to even attempt the "American dream".

Or the Vets that come home to find they've lost their jobs because they were in Iraq fighting a bogus war?

6. The thing that strikes me about this is in defending his homes, he says...
..."we spend our time in" primarily only FOUR of those homes. The rest are "for investment purposes".

Oohhhh! I see. So you REALLY only LIVE in FOUR homes!

Not helping yourself much there, McCain.

16. And I know people who are homeless and cannot afford rent.
Some of the homeless in L.A. have been without roofs for years. What does McCain say about the homeless crisis? He should be able to sympathize with those who have no place to live at all after all those years in a POW camp. If he can't, if he does not feel moved to do something about that problem, you have to ask what is wrong with him? Didn't he learn anything from being in a POW camp? Like empathy for the hardships of others?

19. POW as an excuse
Does this says is that that time he spent in a POW camp diminished his mental capabilities.
or is he suffering from alzheimer's disease?
If he cannot remember things because he was a POW how is he going to be able to handle the
pressures of the office.
He is potentially a very dangerous person to be in charge of the Nuclear Button

20. "Too Much of a Bad Thing"
Maureen Dowd's funny article on this subject:

<snip>

The {POW} ordeal also gave a more sympathetic cast to his carousing. As Robert Timberg wrote in “John McCain: An American Odyssey,” “What is true is that a number of P.O.W.’s, in those first few years after their release, often acted erratically, their lives pockmarked by drastic mood swings and uncharacteristic behavior before achieving a more mellow equilibrium.”

<snip>

The Rev. Kirbyjon Caldwell, the pastor who married Jenna Bush and who is part of a new Christian-based political action committee supporting Obama, recently criticized the joke McCain made at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally encouraging Cindy to enter the topless Miss Buffalo Chip contest. The McCain spokesman Brian Rogers brought out the bottomless excuse, responding with asperity that McCain’s character had been “tested and forged in ways few can fathom.”

When the Obama crowd was miffed to learn that McCain was in a motorcade rather than in a “cone of silence” while Obama was being questioned by Rick Warren, Nicolle Wallace of the McCain camp retorted, “The insinuation from the Obama campaign that John McCain, a former prisoner of war, cheated is outrageous.”

When Obama chaffed McCain for forgetting how many houses he owns, Rogers huffed, “This is a guy who lived in one house for five and a half years — in prison.”
