2. Bravo Rachel, thank heaven she spoke up to the snotty |
|
Nora O'Donnell and the ever big mouth, Pat Buchanan. Boy am I tired of seeing those two!
Rachel, Kieth and a very few others will be our only true voice in this upcoming pre-election period. I hope they have the stamina to keep it up.

3. When they wear this one out..... |
|
They will bring up the race card.....and then we'll find out that McCain was born a small black child.....but not before we find out that some of his best friends in the Hanoi Hilton were black.....

5. Superb work from Rachel & KO |
|
Is there anyone out there as concise as Rachel? What a nightmare to have to debate with her! She just bats it out of the park every time. The "panel" could only bale water after that remark! ..and then KO's last word just grabbed the spin and stopped it! Outstanding work!

6. Rachel Maddow is going to bring about a significant change |
|
to the corporate media environment in just a few short weeks. She is simply the most intelligent, sharpest witted, honest, charismatic and downright funny person in TV news today. She is not afraid of anyone and genuinely seems to enjoy standing up and fighting in defense of progressive ideals. She makes every one of the bobble heads on stage with her seem more interesting by challenging their empty talking points and calling them out on their bullshit.
Hell, I actually found myself listening to Pat Buchanan speak just to hear how flummoxed she makes him. The sour old bastard hasn't been talked back to like that since the Clinton administration and it's wonderful to see him wince as soon as Rachel starts talking to him. It is the look one makes when about to dig a splinter out of one's foot with a needle. Pain is expected and the only questions are how deep does it go how bad is it going to hurt. The crowd roaring their approval behind her is the sound of people hungry for a long overdue voice from the left. It's a sound that is going to get louder and louder in the coming weeks and Rachel is poised to surf that mighty big wave.
I firmly believe Rachel will be bigger than KO by the election and other networks will be scrambling to find "the next Rachel Maddow" in order to get their slice of the suddenly "discovered" liberal audience pie.

7. John McCain Was Not a "Fighter Pilot". |
|
He flew a Skyhawk, which is a ground attack aircraft. He was shot down after bombing and strafing Vietnamese civilians. I wish someone had called out Buchanan on this point.

8. Finally someone calls him out |
|
Now if we can just get someone to find out who he bought his houses from and what kind of deal did he get. It seems like the obvious question that the MSM & reporters refuse to ask.

10. This debate gets tiring. How many houses do each of these reporters own? Christ! |
|
...These reporters need to be showing data on how many homes or housing units are owned by Americans. I have one, the one I live in and I still have to pay on my mortgage each month. What percentage of Americans own two homes? Three homes? And so forth.
More importantly, how many have no home at all and can't afford to own a home? How many own seven homes and how does that relate to voters who may loose their home because of an economy that is heading into a nose dive?
Shouldn't that be the issue in this election?

13. You are probably right about Buchanan, as for who owns their own homes |
|
...in America, the MARS Report of 2003 gives an interesting breakdown found here: http://www.zonalatina.com/Zldata304.htmI'm sure this profile looks much different in 2008

What the hell is he going to say if he's president? "Sorry for getting us into WWIII, tanking the economy, $10/gallon gas prices, the 50% increase in foreclosures and homelessness. I was a POW."

16. "I was a POW" won't become a punchline, |
|
it already has. Last week, when his surrogate used it as the excuse for not knowing how many houses he owns, it became a punchline.
When does that arrogant a**hole Buchanan get booted off the air?

17. That was a good job by Rachel. |
|
She just pointed out a few facts.
Rachel said McCain got serious when he started his POW spiel. However, Leno didn't buy it. Leno said, I think that's five houses.
Showing that John "POW" McHouses is already a joke and punchline.

20. Its not the # of houses....... |
|
The issue is not whether John and Cindy own more than one home, investment property, or crutch crib for a child that can’t afford her own place. The issue is that McCain’s response to the question was so inept and therefore a very telling lens through which he sees the world.
When Jay Rockefeller came to Capitol Hill in the 1980’s, he paid $16 million for a house in the District he then gutted. No one really cared. It was more important that he understood the people he represented than where he lived. Worth millions, he chose to join VISTA. Worth millions, he chose to work for the common good.
By the same token, John McCain came from a prominent family (son and grandson of admirals); however, he married well (the second time around) and then created a myth of a “rugged self reliant” hero able to shake up Washington by mere force of his “Dudley Do Right” personality. Like Nancy and Ronald before him, he assumes that the poor will always be with us, so what’s the point of trying to help.
We expect out leaders to be successful, but not clueless. We expect our heroes to be bigger than life and self effacing. However, we easily cease to admire them if they prove themselves to be dolts.

"If you marry a beer heiress... that's an American success story."
Whatever happened to the "work ethic" of these folks?
To succeed in life - marry money.
Ugh.
