1. What a pants load Thompson delivered

He said that McCain's captors told him they would release him "if he disclosed military information". The truth is, they offered him his freedom when they found out he was an admiral's son. Apparently his military career rivaled that of The Gipper's.

I often wonder if McCain appreciates that if not for the Viet War protestors, he'd still be sitting in that cell.

Oh wait... Thompson just said we're winning the war, and the crowd is chanting USA!. I'm suddenly distracted from the bullshit.

2. Swift Boaters aren't so swift on this one.

I keep waiting for them to pounce all over Fred Thompson for attacking McCain's "patriotism" and for them to call for McCain to cut him loose. Sheesh, it's probably a waste of time, just like the time wasted watching the Republican comedy convention. I just wish they'd start getting serious about what we need to do as a country to get us back on track. So far, all I'm hearing is absurdities like I would read in the Onion or the Borowitz report.
