I have always loved this song. When I was a Marine stationed in Hawaii, I would always play this on the jukebox when we went out. I think the other Marines finally got sick of hearing it!

3. Dion's hair sure looked funny. I saw him at Westbury Music Fair

3 years ago. He was touring with Jerry Lee Lewis (who was great. Old, but great) He did this song, plus every hit he ever had. Jerry Lee's plane was late, so Dion just kept singing. Good concert.

Abraham, Martin, John, Bobby...I guess this song could be much longer--Malcolm X, Paul Wellstone, Hale Boggs...

BTW his contemporary and friend was the super talented Bobby Darin, who was another celebrity activist. Darin wrote many excellent protest songs, always stood up for the underdog, personally campaigned for Bobby Kennedy, and was just an all around special man. If he saw how things are today he's be so fukin' furious. But not surprised.
