3. Not bad. I enjoyed. But transient. |

Pelosi gave a proper speech. If house repukes have any hope of remaining in any way relevant that idiot republican whip is the one that needs to be disciplined. Someone should rediaper him, give him a rattle, and put him in a room by himself for awhile so he can scream his head off.

You know, one of the questions I've had is: Will Barack Obama have coattails? That is, will he be able to get more Democrats elected to Congress and strengthen his support there? Will he be able to convert former Republicans to Democrats, or at least to Obama Republicans, the way Reagan had his Reagan Democrats? So far, it seems like he's been running against McCain, and not enough running against Republicanism. But this Congressional Republican sabotage of the bailout bill may turn many against the Republican Party in general.
Republicans caused the mess that requires the bailout, and I think most people know that. Now Republicans refuse to pass the bailout bill. And I think most people won't buy that Democrats made them do it. They still have to pass a bailout bill. And how stupid will they look when they do? The Republican Party is close to shattering. Thursday could be the rock that brings the glass house down. If Palin really tanks, and the polls show Obama's lead growing, there may be open calls to dump her, and open finger-pointing by different Republican camps as to who is more to blame for their meltdown.
I'm hedging a little the way a good predictor should. But I predict Christmas could come early.

Obama Republicans.
Could be the next big thing.
I know a few.
And I'm sure I'm not alone.
