1. PREJUDICE IN A MELTING POT
Prejudice in a melting pot - our country of various races, religions, cultures, and diversity is absolutely inexcusable - just like slavery aand stripping the American Indians of their rights in a free country was as well!!! I don't know about anybody else, but I'm sick of the right-winged so called "Christian" b.s. of preaching prejudice and hate!!! Jesus didn't preach anything but love, and would Jesus have been a Liberal?! YOU BET!!!

31. It's obvious how uncomfortable they are on camera. Everyone with a video
camera should show up at these rallies then post on YouTube.
Expose them once and for all.

6. Will the rest of the corporate media pick
up this story of the hate being riled up at McCain Palin rallies? Once hate has been let out of the bottle it is hard to contain it. Remember the shootings at the Unitarian Church in Knoxville TN. Someone is going to try something very stupid.

I cannot believe no one has been held accountable for saying stuff like "kill him" or "bomb Obama." Why aren't the Democrats screaming about all of the hate being targeted at Barack Obama? Do they not care about the candidate? WHERE ARE THE DEMS? The Republicans would not sit on the sidelines that's for sure.

20. but - didn't you hear: "kill him" was "probably" directed at AYERS, not Obama!!!
Edited on Sat Oct-11-08 12:33 PM by TankLV
THAT'S the line they are going with every time they DO mention this story...

they are giving them excuse after excuse after excuse...

these "honerable" people couldn't POSSIBLY be in any way shape or form "bad"...

it's SICKENING!!!

just like all their "I'm sorry if you're offended" non-apologies, not "I'm truly sorry for what I did/said".

22. Wrong on both counts ...............
Your wish list is admirable.

Violent rhetoric is as American as Mom and apple pie. (It
didn't start a
couple of weeks ago).

Undemocratic? I refer you to the First Amendment.

I know what you are trying to say and I stand with you, as do
millions
of Americans. Unfortunately, decent and thinking Americans
stand to lose
much of what little remains of our precious freedoms if this
despicable
behavior of the ever-present lunatic fringe cannot somehow be
quarantined.

23. You Fool.
inciting violence is not Democratic and never has been. Calling Obama a Terrorist because of his association to Ayers, by that shrew Republican, is inciting violence against him.

It is hate speech and is not protected under the First Amendment and needs to be shut down.

Obama has every right to ask for a cease and desist.

Speaking in the arena of ideas is one thing sure you can disagree with one persons approach to a problem vs. another persons approach that is respectful debate.

But the culture of personalities and personal attacks is dangerous, Lies are Libel and that is a criminal act requiring prosecution.

Lock them up.

26. THIS IS BALKANIZING OF AMERICA NOT 1st AMMENDMENT!
This is outlawed in Germany for a good reason!

I grew up in communist Romania and I am telling you, what the republicans are doing should be challenged very swiftly and decisively. This is setting up the country for a violent pogrom or worse. I know I remember this from the old country. Political rallies where calls for violence are voiced have to be exposed as unamerican and John McCain has to condemn it explicitly as I think he already did.

How are Democrats being slanderous? I haven't heard anything slanderous from our side. A few distortions on policy perhaps, but no one is going around saying McCain is a terrorist or a Muslim or wants to teach kindergartners about anal sex or any of these other blatant lies we get from the RW. Where the hell do they get off! I'm very proud of the campaign Senator Obama has run.

and order them to cool it.

These RW talk shows are one of the root causes of this behavior at the McCain/Palin rallies.

This is beyond First Amendment rights when you're inciting violence against an individual. This is verbal lynching that could become an actual lynching. These same assclowns will deny they have that effect on the people, but they took full credit for turning around the political climate in 1994 when the Republicans controlled the U.S. House and Senate for the first time in 40 years. Limbaugh was there at the Capitol for a reception, taking credit for contributing to the turnaround. If these dufuses think they're influential enough to do this, they have to realize that they can trip a switch in some of their knuckledragging listeners to where they will go out and attempt to assault or assassinate a political figure based on the message that person constantly hears from these talk shows.

These assclowns need to be held accountable now before it's too late. Subpoena them to some Congressional hearings for starters. I realize you're getting into some First Amendment issues, but this is evolving to where it's like yelling "fire" in a theater.

18. a curious phenomenon
Edited on Sat Oct-11-08 12:26 PM by Poseidan
Society often rejects things. For example: slavery, tyranny, oppression, and fascism. But sometimes, when rejected, the things do not die. Instead, they evolve. Because of the rejection, they must evolve to become less noticeable. The evolved versions are more dangerous, as all more greatly evolved versions are.

Slavery is still very much alive, but can no longer be seen with the naked eye (today, slavery is mental rather than physical). Another thing rejected by the United States - the Confederacy - is also still alive, and yes, far less identifiable.

As the rejected things evolve, so must society.

at 202 324-3000. Unfortunately, because it's Saturday and the start of a holiday weekend, I was only able to voice my opinion to the man who answered the phone. He gave me the telephone number to my local office and hung up on me. I had called to ask if the FBI would investigate the hate speech at the McCain-Palin rallies. I think if a lot of people call them, they will, if they are not doing so already.

30. McCain's words hollow . . . .
I don't believe for one minute that McCain's backing off was his idea. I believe he was instructed to do so when it became obvious the threat of physical damage was evident. Were he sincere he would pull many of his hate ads. He has not.

Palin has been particularly evil using her cheerleading, girly, method of repetition to brain wash these folks into an actual attack frenzy .... It's getting out and out dangerous. :scared:

They are attacking their own candidate, calling him a traitor, and a quitter. And when McCain says, "You don't have to be scared of Barack Obama as your President," some are regarding that as McCain's concession speech.

36. First of all I would like to thank you for posting this video ,ultraist.
I've been in an out of DU lately because of health problems and THIS is

a total shock to me !!!It sounds like the 50s!

That being said,

The part where McCain got booed the loudest is when he said:

"he's a person you do not have to be scared as a President of the United States"

Man, those peoples have traveled in time from the 19th century or what ?

McClain nails it:"...you do not have to be scared... (of Obama)"

Fear is the root of hatred IMHO.

And to conclude:

"The wingnust are the last one left to come to these rallies"

-Ana Marie Cox

Thanks again for posting this video and a big thanks to Rachel Maddow!

-Jeff

(Please feel free to correct me)

They hate him because they are afraid....of what?

Obama, his family, gays and non whites have very real reasons to fear the type of people who are attracted to this RW campaign. Yet, you do not hear them making death threats directed at politicians.

I doubt if the wingnuts ever felt threatened by "the others".

39. No, they travelled here from 1938 Germany. The Bushies brought them to it.
And now it simply isn't going away. Once unleashed, the National Inner Nazi never without a fight.

Witness what the it took to make the Bushie-KKK stop murdering African-Americans in the 60s and 70s.

That was a PICNIC compared to what we face, though the violence level is much lower, for now.

But now the Feds are on the side of the Bushie-KKK, too. The Bushie-KKK IS the Feds.

Just like when the German Bushies took over that country in 1933.
