3. OK video (not recommending), but..

I watched it through. Is ok, but lengthy. Nice music and a montage of
whack-jobs Palin, Hannity, Morris... being what they are, idiots.
If you have time, take a look, but the title is abusively misleading.

So Joanne98 gets an "Okeedookee" for the video, but a big "blackeye" for
her fraudulent title. Don't do that latter again Joanne98, if you please.
And please don't flame me, I'm a vet... of usenet (teeth).

Palin is getting booed is in the video, sure, but that is buried deep in
the piece, not effectively presented, and not the central point.

Joanne98 needs to be more understanding that this is not about getting
hits or "tricking" people into viewing a video with a misleading title,
even if the video is well done. That tactic is ultimately destructive, not
productive.

DU (and other forums) is presently engaged in a pretty serious business, nothing
less than helping reclaim our country, and even saving the world. Doubt it not, I kid
you not. I would not be here if I didn't think it was exactly that important.
But We are multi-tasking and there is also room for some fun. Always! Fun
is part of the debate too.

Yet if the forum is to survive and mean anything after Nov 6 a distinction
must be made, beginning in the title, between factual information which is
efficiently provided and propaganda, fun, or plain sillyness. All of these
are legitimate, but respect for the readers who comprise the forum means
that we don't mislead or jerk each other as to which we are presenting.
People don't always have time. please respect that.

I think, in her defense, she was posting a video she found relevant on You Tube and that was the title given it there. I don't think she was trying to trick anyone into watching - it is I think standard practice to not change titles from there to here.

Appreciate and understand the remarks.
When there is time for fun, it is nice to have something fun to watch.
We need the break, and to maintain a sense of humor, it keeps us sharp, and balanced.
Appreciate those who are providing some humor. Not trying to stop that.

On the other hand...

Some of us are watching with serious concern the unfolding republican campaign
rhetoric which is an incitement to violence. this is extremely serious.
We have a history of assassinations. Conditions are concerning. Threats are real.
But an assassination cannot be allowed to happen THIS TIME. Understand?

DU is an information filter. We post things here that faux news distorts.
We need to see this stuff. We look for it in titles. Please use appropriate
titles so that the forum's function as a Democratic Underground can be
protected.
