Important information for our times. Rosie O'Donnell needs to sit on Elizabeth Hasselbeck and make her watch this. It is hard to disagree with the facts he presents, or with the theme of the documentary. All fundies are dangerous.

I was raised Catholic. Parochial Catholic school...uniforms...nuns. Catholic church. Altar boy. Italian family. Catholic priest uncle, Tony.

When I was 15 I realized they were trying to teach me things I did not believe in. So I called bs. I refused to go to Confirmation class, or to church or to Young Life meetings. I just thought they were wrong about things.

Now I say that I have a problem with any religion which claims it has the monopoly control on access to God. I believe heaven and hell are human inventions which are used to control people. Now I say that I don't believe any single religion should claim it has exclusive knowledge of the only valid form of approaching spirituality. But when I was fifteen, I just thought they were wrong about things.

4. Believing is a human capacity. Like being empathetic or a math whiz.

Some people are born with it. What would be the benefit of that? Why is it fit? Could it be that believing in another world or way or friend named god..would make people live better lives. For some people, yes.

It isn't evil. Just the people who have been using it of late in the USA are. And not a few in the Middle East. And evil always use human emotion or capacities to do their dirty work when power is concerned.

And he does it without sounding vindictive either. Fascinating.
