3. I'm sorry it's come to this...

I'm really sorry it has come to this. I have many gay friends and always felt terrible when they could not visit their dying partners or were denied joint health coverage. In short I've always believed that gay couples should have the same rights as married couples. One of the main concerns is this is the manner in which our culture views marriage. So many good believing people believe that gays should not get married. I would have been much more satisfied if Measure 8 had been written to give gays the same rights as married couples, but that is not the case. There is no baby in this for the wise Solomon to cut in half and Jesus would probably fight to assure that gays have the same rights as those married in our current culture. Yes, the culture is full of absurdities and this is certainly a damned if you do and damned if you don't situation. Personally I'll have to vote NO of Measure 8 and God help us.
