The underlying premise of this new ad from the National Republican Senatorial Committee: Obama's going to win.

The ad, on behalf of Senator Elizabeth Dole, urges a vote against challenger Kay Hagan as the last bulwark against complete Democratic control:

"These liberals want complete control of government in a time of crisis," says the narrator. "All branches of Government. No checks and balances no debate, no independence."

"If Hagain wins, they get a blank check."

2. What a crock
When Dole ran in 2002, she wasn't against Republican controlled Presidency, Congress, and Supreme Court

Plus in 2002, Dole hadn't set foot in NOrth Carolina in years except for rare visits to her mother

4. The headline is a bit of a stretch
After seven years of fear mongering about Muslim extremists and conflating any one who prays toward Mecca (or whose biological father did) with Osama, this ad is fear mongering about Democrats taking control of the government. The message is vote Republican.

If Libby Dole runs an ad in the remaining days saying how she, as a Republican, will work with President Obama for the good of the country, then Elizabeth Dole ad assumes Obama will win would be a accurate headline.
