2. Someone has to setup the machines, and make sure that they are working
That's me. I have been an election custodian in my town here in the Hudson Valley of NY for about 12 years. My day starts at 5AM, but I will be calling people in the middle of the day, and seeing if people need rides to the polling place.

5. I consider myself very fortunate in that
I have off every election day, both primaries and generals. I makes it so much easier when you don't even have to ask.
