4. I forgot about the blowing up computers

Why You Should Fire Hatch
We think that new technology is important, and we don't think Hollywood cartels should override what we say and do with it. Hatch doesn't agree. He has consistently pushed for an innovation tax and draconian laws that hurt ordinary people. Here are some highlights from Hatch's career:

*

Blow Up Computers: It's as crazy as it sounds. In a Congressional hearing on file sharing, Hatch asked several anti-P2P technology companies about whether it would be possible to blow up computers used for copyright infringement, because that "may be the only way you can teach someone about copyright." In case that wasn't clear, he went on to explain:

"If we can find some way to do this without destroying their machines, we'd be interested in hearing about that ... if that's the only way, then I'm all for destroying their machines."

Click for BBC coverage of the event.
*

Jailed for a Song: The policy was in a bill called S.B. 3021, and it was passed by the U.S. Senate on November 20, 2004. However, it became mired in procedural problems that kept it from becoming law. The bill specifically said that sharing a single pre-release work (song, movie, etc.) carried a possible five-year prison term for even first-time offenders.

Click for more the full text of the bill and legislative history.
*

The INDUCE Act: The 2004 INDUCE Act would have forced companies to be liable for copyright infringement committed with their products. This massive change in policy would have upended the 1984 "Betamax Rule," which frees technology makers from having to seek permission from copyright holders before releasing a new product. The public -- especially those who work in the tech industry -- rallied against the bill and sent tens of thousands of letter to Congress. The bill was defeated, but it represents a high-water mark for one-sided information policy.

5. haha That's good - check out video of Orrin introducing the Messiah
Edited on Fri Nov-03-06 05:24 PM by Cell Whitman
Actually it is the co-Messiah. Video of Hatch introducing Mrs. Sun Myung Moon and she gets up and tells the crowd she and Moon have brought in the completed testament age as the True Parents/Messiah.

besides saying Jesus failed, Moon says he is God incarnate and that every word he utters or action he takes is God's. Moon also says his goal was to subjugate the American population and government - meaning push us right and theocratic - he has been very successful thanks to people like Orrin working with him, accepting him, his fronts and billions of swindled bucks that brought the right to power.

Check it out - Orrin penned a song in honor of Moon's efforts.

Orrin is the man who claims he is a good judge of character and should decide who is best to be a judge or president in America.
