the more I like her. Her reasoning was flawless. Brava! :applause:

2. I'm getting tired of Rachel ... |
|
AND Keith ... their snug self-absorbed arrogance has little to do with journalism and more to do with "watch me" ... "it's all about me" ... They are mirroring each other in style and it's become a bore ... if style is what it could be called at all ... their truths get lost in their flippant childishness ... whether they know it or not their so-called "style" is just the flip side to "Billo" ... at least, for me, it's all small-minded idiocy ... I'm looking for depth ...
Maybe Naomi Klein would be a refreshing addition to MSNBC ... They need to add someone I can take seriously cause these two clowns have lost me ...

15. Bravo Veronica for standing up to the gatekeepers. . . |
|
You see, I too get corrected for making against-the-grain posts. . .lectured by people on this board who presuppose their role is to keep opinions with-the-grain.
Maybe it's because my posting number is under 1000 that some here like to push back a newbie. I see you're in the low post category as well. So keep what I say in mind when you get condescending, patronizing replies. It's a reflex they can't control. . . LOL
Btw, I agree with your assessment of Rachel/Keith's shtick. . .their snarkiness is wearing thin. There is something to be said about no-frills commentary. . .in the Edward R Murrow mold. . .have you watched Amy Goodman of democracynow.com or even Cenk Uygur of theyoungturks.com who is not monotoned by any means but when he gets expressive it's naturally emitted instead of part of a routine.
I get what you're saying, Veronica. . .and good stand up to the gatekeepers of DU opinion!

18. I will take exception to your opinion... |
|
The left needs many more commentators like Rachel. We are still making up ground on the air(so to speak). We are still out gunned 2/1 for on the air personalities. We on the left need more air time not less. If we cannot get our sides point out to the middle ground of this country, Where then are they going to get it? Rachel Maddow's reasoning capabilities far surpass mine and most others. We need her and Kieth to keep bangin' the hammer for us. I do agree though that they could try to make it a little less like...this is my opinion hour...and more like a respectable news commentary broadcast. So Veronica...I agree and I disagree with you. Also would love to keep hearing from you. :bluebox:

4. Rachel says the same thing I've been saying |
|
only more articulately.
Lieberman is no asset to the Democrats. You can't make progress if you are continually watching your back. It's time to dump him.

9. What would they do in 2 other instances? |
|
I hope they can consider after all of his attacks and for what party he was willing to be a VP for:
1. If Dems were entirely stuck in the minority, would they keep him in his chair position? 2. If Dems were entirely safe in the majority, would they keep him in his chair position?
If they answer those two questions that they'd remove him, they should not compromise. Just do it, no matter what the supposed 'big picture' is, because the big picture is you are training other people how to treat the party in the future. He did not just support the other guy - he jumped ship and started lobbing heavy artillery back and that is the difference here.
The enemy of my enemy is my friend? Well, the enemy of my party is not my friend. Cut Joe loose.

I watched Evan Bayh try to explain this to Rachel yesterday, and I'm glad I'm not the only one who who noticed he was talking in circles. "We need his help getting those 60 votes," he said. Well, Obama needed HIS help!!! On the subject of the simple fact that Holy Joe freaking RAN AGAINST Obama, Bayh said, "Let it go; this is not the time for revenge." What's even worse, he's not only supposed to be welcomed back to into the fold, but retain his committee chairmanships--and that's supposed to make Obama look GOOD???
On the other hand, maybe Obama is simply letting nature take its course. Maybe he's just paying lip service to Joe precisely because he knows that the Dems are going dump him like fertilizer. And if we win the senator seats in MN, GA, and AK, we DEFINITELY won't need him.
At any rate, good for Rachel for pointing out the obvious. In the end, that's really all that she and Keith and Stewart and Colbert do.

13. I so agree with Rachel. Another point that is being missed is that even |
|
with Alaska, Minn, Georgia, which may not happen, but even if there are 59 Dem's plus Joe, there are 4 or 5 Dino's that will never support busting a republican filibuster. The magic number is more like 65. That makes Joe even more irrelevant.

Please do not let Lieberman end up as a potential 60th vote. The SOB is a war monger.

17. No Joe Lieberman. Just NO. |
|
He MIGHT be valuable as a 60th Senator? Oh PUL_EZZZZE. Not on critical votes, folks. A certainty.
The chances of getting 60 Senators. Much in doubt.
So how valuable is Lieberman really? Weigh the certainty against the doubt to obtain...
NOT MUCH!
