I always wondered why TV supplied the laugh track. Isn't that kinda like laughing at your own joke? It is really annoying.. Gawd, can you imagine going though life with a studio audience reacting to everything you did? Ewwwww.. get that out of my head!!

Sure feel sorry for O + M, who now have to deal not only with the girls but with the rest of the world, on this issue!

19. Umm - the girls have severe allergies - that would preclude MOST dogs... |
|
altho that would still leave a lot of hypoalergenic dogs to choose from...

if a chihuaha were the size of a dobie, they'd be very, very, dangerous....
Here's to yappy dogs!
Here's to the new First Family, regardless if they get a girly, yappy dog or a big, rambunctious yappy dog or a camel or an orangutan!

21. God - I HATE yappy dogs! |
|
I always wondered if it was more of a reflection of the owner than the dog, tho...
Nothing worse than an annoying fucking yappy dog - I just want to STEP on 'em...(I'm kidding! - but not by much)...

though. The hypo allergenic thing does mean quite a lot in the category aren't particularly macho. In fairness Barack would suit a tough dog.

13. Standard Poodles hypo-allergenic and quite macho. A bit too macho at times. |
|
Portuguese Water Dogs also hypo-allergenic without the unfair "poodle" baggage.
I say this as a Standard Poodle's person.

27. That's their heritage alright. My Standard would just love to hunt but I won't let her |
|
Around here she realllly wants to bring home some deer! They make her crazy but she has to satisfy herself with beating up on our German Shepherd (they adore each other so he tolerates her abuse).
Poodles are the best.

and I share his preference for big dogs.
The only big dog I can think of, offhand, that's hypoallergenic, is a standard poodle. Since he specifies "rambunctious," I'd recommend a poodle mix, such as a labradoodle. Retrievers have the temperament he specifies, and are the kindest, most saintly dogs to have around children.
Good luck finding one in a rescue, though.
Even if the girls insist on a "girly dog," there's no law limiting a household to one dog.

23. He's thinking the same thing a million other dads have thought throughout history... |
|
What kind of dog am I going to be walking at 2am with the runs...cuz you know he'll do it if he needs to.
Except he's thinking about it on the White House lawn. And he's thinking, It's our dog, no secret service agent's gonna do that. And he will be picking up the poop after.
I'm thinking black standard poodle with a butch haircut (no puff balls, just short, like Barack's).
Gotta love the guy!
