6. And, ironically, Cenk is helping to make sure that Joe doesn't go away
In the past it might have hinged on quality, expertise, and integrity, but these days it's all about repetition and recognition.
Repeating this guy's name (and the name of his product) actually does him a favor. Cenk has succeeded in increasing the POS's market value.

As Oscar Wilde once put it

The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about.

25. that's ok
if JTP sticks around to give us laughs per Cenk I can deal with it.

I really doubt that any attention generated by Cenk skewering him is going to make a big difference, frankly. Maybe I'm wrong, but....I think I'll just enjoy my laugh for now.

And, who at that company thought he would be a good spokesperson?

Cenk is wrong about his 10 year thing. We'll never hear from this guy after about July.

Mostly as Hartmann once said it's an identity thing why you say Republican their voters take it as a personal affront. So I used a different term to help win more people over.

John McCain " what's a GOPer." LOL :)

11. I think he needs a better agent....
Edited on Sat Nov-29-08 05:23 AM by TheEuclideanOne
I can just see it now.... All of these people approaching him about representing him because he is now a superstar. Everybody Loves you Joe!!!! Look at how the crowds cheer for you!!!!! It is so easy to envision the conversation.

Sadly, Joe is not too bright, so he got suckered by somebody who was going to make him famous. Your first gig? A public service ad for a message that is arguably useless to begin with. Regardless of Joe's involvement, I have seen ads like these before and have always wondered who would actually pay money for a campaign on the important message of being prepared for when TV's switch to digital only.

So, just to make it clear that Joe is just beyond pathetic....:
a) The best that he could do was get a public service advertisement.
b) That was his first TV spot after his 15 minutes of fame. You could have thought that he would have settled for a public service advertisement only after a few more minutes of milking his 15 minutes. Apparently not. He is doing PSAs at 15:01
c) The public service announcement was about the least important announcement that exists.
d) It is so painfully obvious that it is about as low budget as it gets. At least they didn't record it via cell phone.

JOE, YOU ASSHOLE PLANT, THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN you start off with a easily discoverable set of lies, then spend weeks talking more crap in an area where you are way out of your league. Hard to get a public following that way. Remember, people are not as stupid as you are, so don't assume they are. In short, you are a total scumbag, and this is your just rewards.

12. LOL
I think Joe the plumber, at least the Joe in the video is an Avatar.

He takes money to be propped up and played, their must be a joke in this somewhere.

He probablly is meant to just create a filtered image.

14. And you would have at least expected the TV in the video to work, considering the nature of the ad
There is a metaphor here somewhere. With a little more sleep, I could probably pick up on it.

Could you actually imagine this guy, in real life, helping you with anything? Seriously, though, imagine if this asshat came to your house to fix some plubming problem that you have. He is the kind of asshole that would leave everything broken and leave you arguing with the plumbing company as to why you paid a fortune when nothing is working.

Remember, he was the public face of a campaign where people were millions of middle class republicans were arguing religiously that they wanted to elect the guy that would give tax cuts to the rich. They were so convinced that they must elect the guy who is acting against their best interest. Not a perfect analogy, but it would be like Robin Hood visiting a village and saying "I will take from the rich and give to the poor", and then all of the poor people protesting that they don't like Robin Hood redistributing wealth.

16. Lets all compare ourselves to Joe.
Edited on Sat Nov-29-08 06:04 AM by RandomThoughts
Well if we are in search of metaphors, I have to use my own experiance to create them.

Lets see.

Well he is a plumber. And I posted a negative Brookings institute piece when commenting on Hillary. Note that the plumber Gordon Liddy, also posted things against Brookings. However I abhor violence and am polar opposite in that respect. And McCain was associated with Liddy as a negative, and one of the songs I posted had a McCain avatar in it.

Moving on, Hey the newest favorite on my you tube site is
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCBUzzBm4cg Posted it a couple days ago, after seeing it posted by another user here on this site.

And in that song she sings, "she's got no digital". So maybe this Joe is trying to tell me we will all have digital soon. Some kinda of power claim. Hehe, but that is a stretch now isnt it.

Of coarse, I sent out vibes as if I might have money comming in, never for pay, or for future work, but just because, well because it will happen. And Joe says he has money coming for book deal. Another match.

This is fun.

Let me see what else, my name isn't joe, that don't match, I am not republican, I have completly different views then him. Hmm what else.

Joe was shown to not really be a plumber, and neither am I, but its all about perception anyway.

McCain said that Joe was rich! And many might think I am, I only know I will be, not a clue how, I just trust in God.

Joe wanted to be a country singer, I can't really sing and dance, but I like posting songs from those blessed with musical talent.

Hmm, "lets compare joe the plumber", could be a new thread. Its fun to do with movies and stories, why not Avatars.

Joe had a media buzz around him during the campaign. Me, well they really didn't mention me, why would they...

If you replaced my name with joe's name, many comments made by pundits would make sence from a perspective I do not hold.

Joe likes fame, I do not.

Joe is bald, I am not.

Joe is either being led, or is a plant. I just do what I want. Don't believe in waiting to much life is wasted that way.

And of coarse, Joe wont go away, and neither do I :)

That was fun, you try.

(Edit: A few more, Joe said its not about money. In my post about what happened to the companion of the doctor who just wanted money. Then I said its not about money. I made the same comment! cool. And it isn't about money.)

32. Not HDTV, just conversion to digital broadcasting
Like switching from analog watch to a digital one. Digital signals take up less bandwidth, making more of the electromagnetic spectrum available for other uses. You don't have to get high-definition television (HDTV), however. That's a "value added" item. Whether it's worth the money is determined by how much you want to see an actor's nose hairs.

And yes, if you only get television from broadcast stations and not cable, you've got to get a converter to receive anything after the switchover date. Not everything the government does is a scam.

One of those shows where they fix up someone's house or flip houses or whatever. The narrator introduces the plumber with the title, "Jose the Plumber"!

LMAO, now they've even come out with a Latino "Joe the Plumber"! :D

Was the use of "setup" instead of "set up" a setup? (It's in the superimposed text at the end.) I think not because they're obviously too stupid, but I got a kick out of their unintentional joke.

30. This lame, walking-talking represents everything the repug/neocon party stands for.
This bald headed, confused and ignorant moron is the perfect poster child for the future of the repug party. Lost, confused, full of cliches that mean absolutely NOTHING, and functions on fear and despair.

This jerk off and the lipstick pick should be on a poster on every corner to remind this nation constantly of just how close to falling off the cliff we have come.
