we FINALLY have a president on our side. After the Bush debacle I'd pretty much given up hope. Now I feel optimistic about the future.

such a long time. It's nice to know someone has a plan besides moving to Dallas, that is.
Edit: forgot to add an "s" to make days plural!

13. Last night on Rachel Barney Frank said that when PE Obama said |
|
we had only one president at a time he was overestimating the number of presidents we have now. I understood him to mean that bushie has abdicated so we do not have any sitting president right now. He was encouraging PE Obama to act more aggressively because he was the only one standing up to the line right now.

Have you noticed that in each address both he and the background are looking more and more Presidential each week? I like this background the best so far. And I really like what he's throwing out here regarding his economic recovery plan. He and his team are really thinking things out. I'm so excited! 43 days!
On edit: My job just got A LOT more secure today. The company I work for makes energy efficient lighting, though I work in the division that makes some of the best medical equipment around, and builds energy efficient, ambient hospital rooms.

in every Federal Office building? This is a good idea, how come Bush didn't think of that? Oh right, it doesn't involve tanks or bombs.

It's interesting to know that President-elect is so dedicated to trying to heal America. It's a shame that it has taken this long because America has been hurting for a very long time. President-elect Barack Obama speaks from the heart and he is a thinker. I can't wait to see what happens once the Obama Administration takes action.

9. Bush said he feels our pain and will do something in the remaining |
|
43 days to fix it. He's had 8 years to fix it and I think I'd rather he just left things alone for right now. Besides, he wouldn't want to cut into his vacation time.
Welcome to DU.

I haven't had one in so long, I just tear up listening to Barack speak. It's such a thrill to no longer be embarrassed to death by what passed as a pResident since 2001. * was the real Y2K Nightmare we were warned about...never thought it would be human (well sorta!)

You want to fill that gas tank and and pay that rent? Here's your shovel or paint brush, now get to work. This will be like the WPA, not the public dole but constructive work for your check.

I just hope he can find the $$ for it, what with the money tap wide open and an immoral defense budget.
I hope.

18. What Happened to the Eco? |
|
A better infrastructure and some insulation are nice and all, but where're the clean energy part of all this? You want to create jobs, spend a couple billion putting up solar panels, wind farms, and building solar thermal power plants that produce little pollution, reduce our dependency on foreign oil, and lower cost for the average family.

19. This is a Jobs program he is revealing. |
|
Jobs that can begin immediately. It just happens to feature a large energy component. I suspect that all that you mention will be revealed in a separate, massive, unprecedented Energy program. Those jobs will take longer to appear.
This is how I hope it goes, anyways!:hi:

21. make the bailed out companies bring jobs BACK |
|
the companies getting our US tax dollars are the very ones who sucked the life out of our economy, by sending jobs overseas.
Want our money, then bring us back our jobs.
