28. it didn't go out nationally... that is the director track (not the producer) |
|
Edited on Sat Dec-06-08 06:59 PM by SemperEadem
the director is the one losing his shit.
Most news operations record their director track so that when the blame game goes down when something goes wrong, managment can figure out who to really blame and fire.
The reader doesn't get this in her ear directly--she is linked to the producer.. and only if the producer opens his mike would she hear the director losing his mind in the background.
Even if this was a fake, it's still a fact that the director's mike is recorded onto a channel of audio when an air check is rolled on the newscast.

6. Watch the news reader's expression. |

Seems like her reactions match the track pretty well.

9. This is a cheap fraud ... not worth our time .... |
|
Someone with a sound mixer re-recorded over the original audio, adding the lame and profane 'producer-like' dialogue ....

30. Not such a cheap fraud if you ask me.... |
|
Maybe I am too much of a sucker, but I think that this was well done if it was a fraud. I am still thinking that this was the real deal and this comedian, Chris Matta, was trying to claim credit. In fact, I am still not convinced otherwise. Now regarding the quality of it, I think that he did a great job if it was a fake. The "producer-like dialogue" was not overdone, it was just enough to seem legit. It was even faded in and out of the audio of the news story pretty nicely. An amateur would have done a much more obvious job, IMHO. For example, if I tried to pull off a stunt like this, I might have the producer sound track taking over the entire story and it would be really obvious. In this case.... not so obvious.

This kind of stuff goes on everyday someplace in some office. If you worry about kids saying and hearing this stuff than you are living in another world friends. I know young people who wouldn't think twice of using that kind of language. I know I use to work at a gym where young teens hang out and it was nothing to hear that kind of language coming out of their mouths. Although we did send them home.
