1. This reminds me of the MIT work in collecting
solar energy by chemical processes.

2. Now there is an interesting concept
Edited on Thu Dec-18-08 09:26 PM by Bellator
Trying to imitate a natural process rather then trying to control or manipulate nature.

I think I could learn to like this guy and his thinking.

Recommend!!!

edit: spelling

6. Yeah I bet he would have picked a dandy
Based on his assessment of Palin being the foremost expert on energy affairs in the country I would have had complete faith in his judgment.

10. Yup
And he would have used one of those fan-dangled projectors from the Planetarium that Magoo loved to talk about.

8. I really like this guy.
I like his scientific humility, if you will. It is my experience that nothing is really invented. But it is inspired. From nature. He's got the sound I like to hear. This is what we're looking for in a leader. Good, bright appointments.

9. Although I din't realized it
I had been holding my breath in wait of who was to be our new SoE. It was great to breath again once Chu was appointed.

But I disagree w/your statement on Good, bright appointments. So far, this is the only appoinment I am happy about.

12. Haha. That shouldn't have been plural. I meant "appointment".
Yeah, there's too much compromise for me. I want left all the way. But we have company. Even if we hate it. I think Obama is doing the correct thing, even if it smells a bit.

11. I heard a great story on NPR about invention.
The term invention gets thrown around alot, but most (like 99.999%) of all "inventions" are really just innovations. To invent something would be like inventing an inclined plane or a wheel. All others are innovations of previously invented products. It was interesting.

13. That's true.
In fact, the more I study patents the more confused I get. I've done patent research that has resulted in a patent, and I don't see why it was allowed. Duh. I'm not too bright on some things.

But I claim there isn't such a thing as invention. I'll have to look up the word innovation. But I believe it's all just copying what was here to begin with. And that includes one of the things that I find most interesting- the periodic table. Predicting elements that don't even exist yet. And being correct. But it was just a progression of learning. Velcro- a seed. Aspirin- a plant. The wheel- seeing something rolling. Fire- the result of lighting.
