1. I didn't do it, it's not illegal when the Atty Gen. of the United States does it, and
the law was already broken before I touched it.

11. All of the above. Sigh.
He's a joke.
a bad joke, because I just don't feel like laughin.
Tough issues? No so tough.
Choices, was it? Then you didn't choose wisely.

How about "I'm clueless and incompetent, and my legal
opinions were so bad and extreme that by authorizing them
I committed war crimes, and if I go to prison for
life then that punishment will be vastly less than I deserve."

How about "I'm clueless and incompetent and my willful blindness
to the lawless acts of my subordinates undermined and did irreparable harm
to the integrity of the office of United States Attorney General, have brought
myself and my country into disrepute and disgrace, and if I go to prison
for life then that punishment will be vastly less than I deserve."

12. "so then we took it to the lawyers..."

'so if we did anything illegal, we can blame it on them'.

This Gonzales character has this hard evil glint that come through every now and then. I do hope and pray (and I'm not

one who prays often)that there will be swift justice for those who sanctioned, aided and abetted torture. That victims of

torture and their families be compensated.

13. Fast talking doesn't do it, Gonzales. Nothing you say or do will
exhonerate you from the guilt that lies over your head.
