The creator of the video mixed Bill Richardson's comment on the Bill Maher's show in with other video evidence. I'm leaning toward Richardson and had seen the interview but I forgot about this part. It is interesting that a presidential candidate would make a remark like this that most of us agree is one of the reasons * went into Iraq.

2. I never got the revenge thing
Didn't we "win" Gulf War I?

I think this is one of the red herring excuses the administration pushed to take attention away from the real reasons for Gulf War II.

3. The revenge would be for Sadaam's assasination attempt on Poppy..
But, it's more about the insane war-chimp's delusion that if he conquered Bhagdad he would be one-up on his daddy, who (wisely) chose not to try it.

4. That's the way I've always looked at it too.
He was always trying to live up to his father's accomplishments.

8. One-upmanship has always been one of my theories, also. I
believe his ego is so large that he was trying to prove to Poppy that he was a stronger man and better President.

5. Supposedly Iraqi agents tried to kill Bush the Elder in Kuwait in 1993

6. I think 'revenge' was a pacifier to all the hawks that resented that
we didn't decimate Iraq then.

The most intriguing reason after oil and bases and Israel is SUPPLIES!

We read sometime soon aftr shock and awe and the march to Baghdad, that the military wanted to get to some supplies. We read that some soldiers were tasked with moving the stuff. We read that some soldiers became sick to very sick after this assignment.

It wouldn't make sense that this would be wmd that they managed to bury/hide during Iraq War 1. Perhaps it could not be introduced because the story would come out and we would have to find out what it was. And if soldiers became sick?????

But, it could be an easy reason for making claims about wmd. In part, true?

This morning on WJ - an Iraq War 1 veteran mentioned that they left all their supplies in Iraq when they pulled out. Supplies could mean anything - but are we so rich that we wouldn't ship our supplies back to the U.S.?

I think Waxman, Leahy, or someone should hold a hearing to find out if Rumsfeld or one of the boys or corporate friends dumped anything in the ocean after picking up that 'stuff' that made our kids sick. If true.

9. This assumes Bush really was the decider.
I'm more in the boat that he was a puppet. Someone else pulling those strings.
