5. But wasn't this the BART Police?

People have every reason to be pissed off. But the murder was committed by an officer of the BART Police, not the Oakland Police. As I understand it, they aren't the same thing at all.

6. Yes, the BART police

BART = Bay Area Rapid Transit. Not the Oakland police. From the footage that I am seeing, it looks like a civil protest is being appropriated by hoodlums that are just out to do some damage. Cars are being torched and windows are being broken from storefronts in one of the poorest neighborhoods in town. I do not think that that this is the intended response/outcome, even if people are justifiably angry.

What was just a merely civil protest of law abiding citizens has been hijacked by no good thugs who could give a shit less for the dead man and his family. All these guys want to do is riot and destroy things, they have no point (except F*** the pigs or something stupid like that.)

be one of the train stations as opposed to downtown Oakland?

I'm not promoting that idea, I'm just saying taking out their anger on the wrong police agency, and trashing mostly African American businesses makes no sense to me.

These are the same people who destroyed part of the city when the Raiders lost a playoff game. They'll look for any excuse to do damage.

12. And I would like to know the whole story of what exactly happened and why the outrage?

Was the victim totally innocent or are people angry at the method used to subdue him? This is important in a day where armed young people can take out the police in a heartbeat. Some shootings seem obviously unnecessary, but there is the fear factor. If someone threatens or acts violently, it's instinct to draw a weapon, if you have one and are trying to protect yourself.

(By the way, I hate guns and am against them, but cops are in the thick of things.)

14. Well there's no question there were plenty of enough officers

surrounding him, and they had him in the prone position.

He was on his stomach with a number of officers in a commanding position.

The bottom line is the BART officer did fire a single round into the back of an unarmed subject who was not puting up a violent fight.

The officer is by all accounts at fault for shooting an unarmed man who appeared to be mostly complying.

So the outrage is justifiable.

However the outrage was misguided, as idiots destroyed African American businesses in downtown Oakland ... instead of keeping the protest(s) at the BART station where the incident happened.

The cries of WOOOOOOOOOOOO kind of take the civil disobedience into hoodlum land.
