Freeps are peeing themselves over the exchange @ the 3:20 mark. I don't see anything wrong with the way he handled it. He definitely handled it better than his "predecessor."

3. I will not be IGNORED, Obama!
Hehe....

Yes, nothing new here....pretty typical that the journalists would want to ask questions for Obama, and that Obama wouldn't give them anything new since they just got a presser that day. They should have asked better questions at the press conference, there were some dumb ones. It's not like they are being frozen out.

5. No one is being "Frozen Out"
if they waste their opportunity at the official press conference asking stupid questions its on them.

9. yep.
Did they really think that Obama would answer questions when he came to say hi to them? Would have been nice of him , but not very realist. Yes, and Jonathan Martin is a whiney.

4. They asked the same question that had already been asked and answered
at the press conference. Why do they need to ask again?

7. That was pretty cool.
And there was nothing wrong with the way Obama handled the politico guy. Politico should have been more respectful. Maybe their WH guy doesn't know, but Obama doesn't usually duck questions, so he'll get his answer.

11. actually, I think Obama knows this.
Edited on Fri Jan-23-09 11:01 AM by ErinBerin84
He was saying hi just as a coutesy, but one of the reasons why the press gets offended at the "in the tank" for Obama thing is because he DOES keep his distance from them in a sense....hell, this was Mccain's "base" until he stopped inviting them for BBQs. There's a difference between stopping by offices/saying hi and inviting them to a big birthday bash in NYC.

12. Oh God.. The Freeps are Hemorrhaging!
FOR FREEPERS: If Pres. Obama answered that cunt's question then he would have to extend the same courtesy to the whole throng. NOT A PRESS CONFERENCE! GET IT?

The illness of the right is psychopathic! The MOST secretive administration in recent history gets away with murder and they're gonna cry about this?

13. The guy that asked the Lynn question was an ass. Obama had already told them he was there, just to
say hello. There is a time and place for everything, and that was neither the time nor the place.

15. hehe
Wonkette wrote a funny post in response to Politico's pissy article about this this morning.

http://wonkette.com/405729/not-to-be-sexist-but-politico-is-pmsing-real-bad-like-women-do

"Last night Obama went to introduce himself to the White House press corps briefly, politely. A Politico reporter started harassing him about one of his appointments. Obama told him to STFU, he could ask it at the next briefing. Politico writes the following lede this morning: “President Obama made a surprise visit to the White House press corps Thursday night, but got agitated when he was faced with a substantive question.”
Do Jonathan Martin and Carrie Budoff Brown, the co-authors of this whiny, vapid bullshit, think that anyone else cares how hard they have to work to get information? Why do we even link to this vulgar asshole of a publication anymore, now that the election’s over? We’re keeping people like Roger Simon and Mike Allen and Jonathan Martin employed by doing this! Enough.

Your associate editor, at least, is making a belated “New Years Resolution” to never link to Politico again (after this one!), except for Ben Smith and Michael Calderone stuff. They are friendly. Maybe the gal who writes Shenanigans too, or the guy(s) who write(s) the Congress blog. Basically we will stop linking to these particularly retarded, trollish articles Politico front-pages just to get a crappy 2-minute panel slot on AC 360 later in the night. (They actually have full-time employees whose job it is to book their idiot reporters on cable news shows. This alone should be reason enough never to do anything good for Politico.)"

17. I've removed Politico from my "direct link" list...
...when I heard the rumblings of this "story" earlier this morning, I scouted around for the YouTube clip to avoid a direct link. The Fox "News" story is also pretty hilarious, amplifying the "righteous indignation" of the Politico piece.

Also, the actual title of the clip and the additional commentary of the person who posted the YouTube clip is very freep-y.
