Maybe I interpreted this wrong, but it looks like President Obama is prepared to make further concessions to the republicans. I am deeply disturbed and a bit depressed by this. I hope I am wrong.

2. Ah so that's what the problem was!
I thought the videos forum was messed up, we must have tried to post at the same time because I did not get a "this is already posted" message!

3. My fellow Americans
"George bush and his cronies fucked things up beyond all imagination. They put our economy in the crapper; and its gonna take us all working together to fix the unprecedented mess they left us"

why not talk plain?

7. Watch out for that plain talk...
I would not respect any talk, plain or otherwise, were it not accompanied by a step-wise approach (such as was described as a shot across the bow).

It's pretty conclusive as to who fucked things up in the last eight years, or their motives (these are patterns repeated throughout history, circa 2001-2009)

No, I don't want the "straight talk express" people like McCain, or the "plain talk" fools like Bush. I want someone who talks, and then follows through!

4. Well, it was pretty strong
but no specifics yet. Read a story this morning about a 50 year-old guy who lost his job and has spent 8 hours every day for months in an unemployment office. He got to talking to other people and passing along any info he had. Then it occurred to him to apply for a job with the unemployment office! The new growth industry. He should hear shortly.

5. I liked it
I see this as another shot across the bow of the other party....to me it is saying I am going to do what needs to be done and we can do it in a bipartisan fashion as I invite you to participate. But he make clear that he will move forward with or without the other side.

I also a hear a subtle threat to Wall Street...

I know action speaks louder than words....but I like these words

6. I hope you are right. I just worry that President Obama might care more about
his popularity than what the nation needs at this time. I say this because he has stripped the bill of so much already. I hope I'm wrong. His autobiography is so promising. He wrote it before he was even a state senator. Now when I see him making huge concessions I get scared that his ideals have changed. I'll just have to wait and see.

8. Republicans are stabbing the Economy in the Back...
THAT is the message that Americans should be getting from that big fat goose egg that the Repug members of the House laid in Congress this past week,

K&R!

9. his weekly address is always so specific
I like that it is not just filled with platitudes and talking points like we used to get from the previous criminals - had a hard time listening to them

Obama is intelligent and pragmatic.

thanks for posting these.
