4. Near the end of the segment...

...Erin Burnett starts talking about progressive taxation, and says that the rich took most of the losses and therefore "you've already soaked the rich". What claptrap! They soaked themselves with their greed and fraud, and that money they lost has evaporated into thin air -- not into taxes where it might have done some good. Then Cory Booker gets in the bit about the richest 5% paying 50% of the taxes. Why in the hell doesn't anyone ever mention that, sure, the richest 5% pay 50% of the taxes -- but they make 60% of the damned money????? and when you get to the richer people, a lot of their income is not "income" per se, but things like capital gains -- and taxed at a lower rate???

We need to quit letting the right wing frame carry the day, how those pathetic rich people are shouldering a larger burden. They most certainly are not. They are shouldering less than their fair share actually. In a truly progressive tax system, they would pay a larger share compared to their relative wealth, not a lesser share.

Just search for 'bill maher real time' and sort the results on 'date added'. You have to arrange all the bits in the right order yourself, though (opening monologue, T. Boone Pickens, panel, new rules, overtime), but it's worth that little effort.
