MSNBC The Rachel Maddow Show - March 20, 2009: Known as "Knights Out" Thirty-eight graduates of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., came out of the closet Monday with an offer to help their alma mater educate future Army leaders on the need to accept and honor the sacrifices of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender troops.

2. it was so prescient what he said about teaching the iraqi's not to
give in to a small number of religious zealots. yeah, how are we going to SHOW anyone the idea of democracy when we don't practice it here. And the idea that a person in the military who is protecting the constitution, the rights of americans, freedom.... when that soldier can't even be free themselves is ridiculous!! Sometimes I am ashamed of my country. And the fact that people vote to keep it that way. How would the religious nuts that work to descriminate against gays like it if there were a don't ask don't tell policy for mormons, or catholics... or if they were not allowed to marry.

5. Don't ask Don't tell is just plain stupid.
This National Guardsman makes me proud. Thanks for posting. I watched it live yesterday and I was hoping he'd come back. It's a shame that qualified people are disqualified by sexual orientation. If a gay cop stopped a killer from attacking me, what's the bottom line? I lived right? Not that the cop was gay. It's so sad we live in a world that makes such stupid distinctions.
