2. When Jon Stewart speaks to Bill Moyers, we should listen |
|
Jon Stewart may be the greatest clown in America today. He uses humor to expose our follies and does it very successfully. In this interview he shows why he is so successful at his craft, not just in the popular sense but in the artistic sense: He knows the score. He knows we're being lied to by politicians and the media because they have a vested interest in lying to us. That interest is often rooted in that we know what we want to hear and they are willing to prostitute themselves to us, even when what we want to hear isn't what we need to know or even the truth.
All of that is perfect fodder for a clown.

3. On the money, as usual. Smoke screening the problem with emotional hooks. |

Happy karma, conservatives. Don't take the warm clothes.

4. The comparison of The Daily Show to an editorial cartoon . . . |
|
Was absolutely dead on the money. (Shocking that Jon Stewart, of all people, should actually understand the niche he inhabits).
But lest he continue maintaining that he's not a journalist, I'd remind him that they *do* give Pulitzers for editorial cartooning.
