Michele Bachmann Warns of "Re-Education Camps" |
|
Edited on Sun Apr-05-09 01:11 PM by Avidor
Complete interview and more at the http://dumpbachmann.blogspot.com/2009/04/michele-bachmann-on-sue-jeffers.html">Dump Bachmann blog: Sue Jeffers says she is going to encourage Michele Bachmann to run against Amy Klobuchar. Jeffers repeats the "armed and dangerous" quote.
MB: I feel like I have a front row seat on history right now. I cannot believe what I'm seeing. This is our country. We love our country and I'm watching our freedoms slip out the door every day. Just this week with the G-20 and what President Obama is wanting to do to cede American sovereignty to transnational global authorities makes your head spin and we as members of congress have to bind him down with that authority, we cannot agree to these things that he is wanting to do, because it will continue to take away freedom from individuals in the United States.
SJ: But you know what I'm seein' Congresswoman Bachmann is that it's like Nancy Pelosi in the house and Harry Reid in the Senate, it's like they have the er President Obama said here's my agenda, you get it passed and everybody just votes yes.
MB: Well not everybody. The liberals who are with Nancy Pelosi, and are jumping to Nancy Pelosi's tune are voting yes.
It goes on... Later on she discusses Americorps, and is concerned that this is really "re-education camps for young people - and get trained in a philosophy that the government puts forward."

That'll get her out of the House and back into private life. She barely won her reactionary district, and would lose hugely statewide. So...Run, Michelle, Run!

|
When I hear something like this from that bizarre creature, I get chills. Watching them for a while has convinced me that whenever they accuse "libs" of something, they are revealing their own plans, or at least thought processes.
Does anyone doubt for a minute that, given the authority, this woman would round up every one of us and send us off to be "re-educated?"
Why would Obama's actions in Europe trigger this idea in her, unless she was obsessed with it already?

5. Bachman: The Poster Girl For Re-Education Camps |
|
This McCarthyist Loony is the best advertisement for interning Republic Party Psychopaths I've seen yet. The Republic Party has long ago ceased to be a political organization. It's nothing but a cast of cartoon characters. The sooner they're all rounded up and put some place where they can no longer hurt themselves and others - especially America - the better.

11. AmeriCorps = Transnational Global Authority |
|
AmeriCorps is a U.S. federal government program partnering with non-profit organizations, public agencies, and faith-based organizations that was created under President Bill Clinton by the National and Community Service Trust Act of 1993.<1> More than 70,000 individuals currently join AmeriCorps annually, totaling more than 500,000 past and current members since 1994. The work done by these groups ranges from public education to environmental clean-up. AmeriCorps is a division of the Corporation for National and Community Service, which also oversees the Senior Corps and Learn and Serve America. Collectively, these three programs represent a total of more than 2 million members in service each year. AmeriCorps itself is split into three main divisions, including AmeriCorps State and National, VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America), and NCCC (National Civilian Community Corps). Research has illustrated that AmeriCorps programs have a variety of effects on civic education, education, and public service.

There's a reason the RW prefers "truthiness" to facts. Any kind of rational education would raise the specter of "re-education" to the authoritarian types, for whom "education" is the "3 Rs" plus indoctrination.

And they should be able to pass some basic, fundamental civics test before being given a voter's registration card. That alone would keep most delusional Republic Party goof-balls out of voting booths and their candidates safely out of high office...like it should be. At least, they'd have a far harder time being able to pull off a Frankin-Coleman fisaco or a 2001 horror story like the Bush-SCOTUS coup de etat ever again.

Citizens under 18 are not allowed to vote; convicted felons in many states are not allowed to vote. Citizens who do not meet residency requirements are not allowed to vote. Many states are making it the law that those citizens who lack a government issued photo ID are not allowed to vote. In the past, poll taxes and tests were used to legally and constitutionally strip citizens of their voting privileges. You have been seriously misinformed.

The original authors of The Constitution certainly didn't agree with you.
They were obviously against universal suffrage. And it wasn't necessarily because they were for protecting the social hegemony of rich white men.
It was because in those days - in general - it was mainly the landed white gentry who were the only people who could read. Therefore, they were the only people who were qualified to make reasoned judgements at the ballot box based on their abiltiy to access necessary information.
Why should someone who thinks that The Earth is 6000 years old, that we need to provide unconditional military and financial support to Israel in order to hasten Armageddon and the return of Jesus and that Saddam hid the WMDs in Syria be allowed to vote? That's bloody idiotic and not what the founders had in mind when they established a "right" to vote.
It's like handing a drunken child the keys to your car..only on a more global scale. We saw the consequences in 2001 and 2004 and it wasn't pretty - was it?
It should be stopped. Holders of a voter registration card should be subject to the same minimal standards of those which we apply to immigrants taking the oath of citizenship..nothing less.
Even that bar is far lower than it should be.
But at least it's better than nothing...which is what we have now.

37. From the sound of it, I do believe she received a visit from the Secret Service or FBI |
|
Her rhetoric has been obviously slanted away from where she was - and I'm guessing it is due to a reason. Someone should ask her if she was visited by anyone (other than the aliens that have obviously stolen her brain) and see what she says.
The far right is having a lot of trouble hanging on to their precious 25% as can be seen in the descriptions of doomsday they keep presenting. I hope she does run for Senate - it'll be a hoot to see her sink.

btw, are there prospective contenders who will run against her?
