With state and federal tax revenues plummeting, new ideas have to be examined to try to increase the flow of money into our economy. One idea being floated around is to legalize Internet gambling, which surprisingly, is finding support from both sides of the political spectrum. Mike Papantonio of Air America's Ring of Fire takes on the Bulls and Bears on Fox News to debate the issue.

2. I think it is a great idea...
I don't want the government telling me how I can or cannot spend my money. It is pretty hypocritical of the government to have lotteries but then tell their citizens that they can't play online poker. Give me a break. The stock market is gambling also, I don't see that being illegalized.

4. i have to agree with you there. i do find it funny that the government can run lottery but
gambling is off limits. my concern is with people who get addicted having easy access, but then again, if they are addicted they will probably find a way anyway. i wonder if the brick and mortar casinos will fight this kind of thing. we do have some Indian run casinos around here. not nearby, but up in niagara falls and such. as for the stock market...that is DEFINITELY a big gambling operation. totally agree there.

3. It does save the kids as under hand dealers offer various drugs free to get them hooked. >

The safest environment for everyone is end illegal drugs, till then the drug barons will own society that simple really. It's the only way on earth to get a handle on the situation plus the vasts amounts of money leaving the economy through it. It's the only logical move. Once it emptys prisons more money can go to rehab and dealers won't be in business to get folks back in the habit. It all seems the best way forward to me and I don't even like drugs. But awareness of the benefits to society is probably the first case to be made. It's undeniable when put into perspective. They could still make it illegal to do it in public but just taking drugs isn't the issue same as just having a drink. All fine in moderation.

5. did anyone catch the headline?
legalize and taxing SIN?

Sin?? Are they kidding me. Smoking pot is a sin?

isnt BINGO already legalize? The little old church ladies gamble at the firehouse where I live all the time. But thats not a sin but I cant bet on a NFL game because its the Devil.

Who are they to say what a sin is? Different religions have different sins.
