As immoral, unethical, and illegal torture is, Cheney knows this would probably be the best offense to answer for (if he even does) seeing is that he's even admitted to wanting to go plead his case to congress.
Think about it;
Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Haliburton, Big Oil, everything those other private contractors did in Afghanistan and Iraq, ... He's trying to set up a situation where the worse case scenario is answering for an offense, although terrible, is no where near the mass-scale corruption they used this country and its government for.
We worry about torture so our attention diverts from how they got themselves and their friends rich by using our country and it's government as their personal piggy bank.
IF WE HAD A MORAL OBLIGATION WHY WERE WE NEVER IN DARFUR. There is something greater they'd rather not answer for and you know it's bad when it's something Cheney would rather bite the "torture" bullet for.
