C-Span - May 14, 2009: Rep. Dennis Kucinich on supplemental appropriation for Iraq and Afghanistan - "Democrats were elected on a promise to end the war In Iraq. We're continuing. Democrats were elected to get us out of Afghanistan. The war is escalating. And to top it all off, members of Congress, we have a rule, it's in the rule, that keeps Guantanamo open, keeps the prisoners there despite many may have had their rights violated. It's time for America to come home."

8. Oh hell yes. He's one of the very few consistently speaking sense.
I wish we had a few hundred more like him in congress. Then:
the Enron and Worldcom frauds might have been prevented,
our public utilities would still be public,
our national infrastructure would be in good repair instead of neglected and decaying,
we would all have access to affordable health care,
we would have elections that can be recounted,
we would have enough inspectors making sure our food is really safe, not just believed to be safe,
We would still have all the civil rights listed in the bill of rights,
Renewable sources of energy would be a priority with heavy subsidies,
Small farms would be getting support in farm bills instead of mega-agrabusiness,
Predatory lending would have been stopped cold long ago and banks would be regulated,
Taxpayer bailouts would go to people first, and banks would be allowed to fail,
and lobbyists wouldn't be writing legislation and running Washington!

Oh, how I wish we had more people in Washington advocating for real change and real progressive values like Dennis Kucinich!

12. Dennis has principles. I feel good listening to him.
It is not just rhetoric to him. He believes it.

He is the man. I wish we did have a hundred more like him in Congress too.

4. So what is new--Centrists have been giving the shaft to Middle
Class since days of Reagan Administration. After all they drank
the Cool-Aid and have been persuasive on NewComers to Congress
ever since.

15. Yeah,
too bad he can't light the wilted candles from the rest of the districts. We need about 400 like Dennis. Then it would be "for the people". :banghead:

10. The President that was shooed away by big money
Dennis Kucinich is the most sincere, and clear headed Congressman I have ever seen.

It is when I see lone messengers stuck out in the cold, while unethical, corrupt and traiterous cabals work in unison to protect their crime family.

When is America going to wake up?

might get it. But don't hold your breath with this congress. Thanx Dennis for standing behind your principals and promises when there is only a small handful of you. We owe you our support and gratitude.

20. Dennis, alone again -- telling the truth -- all Americans are allowed to have is WAR/MIC....
Are we going to wait until we're all one of the 40 million already impoverished without

health care to cause enough fuss to force different decisions on this government?

FAIR ELECTIONS NOW ACT - HR 1826 - LEGISLATION IN THE WORKS NOW --

COMMON CAUSE IS WORKING TO GET SENATORS/REPS TO SIGN A PLEDGE TO VOTE FOR IT --

THEY NEED MORE SPONSORS -- CALL YOUR SENATORS AND REP --

In order to break this cycle of fascist rule we need to bar corporations from any

participation whatsoever in our elections.

IRV voting would also come in handy since Democrats at this moment know they have no

competition!!!
