While the detention center at Guantanamo Bay has plans to close, the prison at Bagram Air Force Base in Afghanistan continues to expand. CNNs Stan Grant talked to former Taliban leader Mullah Abdul Salam Zaeef who claims he was beaten at Bagram and Guantanamo.

CNN has more details here: http://edition.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/asiapcf/05/24/gitmo.taliban.prisoner/index.html

1. wtf?! who gives a shit? seriously! THIS is why we (liberals) get a bad name-pieces of shit fluff
pieces like this! He was a former taliban leader; what about the travesties he's been associated with? I'm sure they're more horrendous than getting beaten. Where's our apology? huh? I want an apology from this guy. Where is it? Do we need a reminder of who our enemies are? NOT muslims, NOT Islam, NOT all of those captured and put into prison without a trial, but... THE TALIBAN. This guy might as well say the Jews owe the nazis an apology. BULL SHIT.

It's never good to justify violence, I'm not even saying what happened to this guy should've happened but no one owes this POS an apology. We're so quick to point out double standards (and rightly so) but where are we on this one? Taliban member unfairly treated. What about those he's unfairly treated (and much worse I might add)?

2. Well, he would.
The Taliban as a group has a less than stellar reputation for veracity.
