13. the show sucks, but i did find Patti to be very likable

it's hard to pay attention to the whole show as it's just so bad. but Patti did come off pretty well. i think her husband is pretty likable also.

but Patti really comes off as innocent. you can't think she would be involved in doing the things they are accused of when you see her.

Until she did this show, she wasn't a celebrity either.

I don't like Rod. He did a poor job of getting along with his coalition.

But he hasn't been found guilty of anything yet. Fitzgerald may be the darling of some DUers, but he is a republican. He timed Blago's arrest and the release of the information about Burris to coincide with the Obama inauguration. I believe he was trying to overshadow the Obama victory to the extent that he could, and to show what a corrupt state Obama comes from.

As I understand it, Fitz may also be timing the Blago trial to coincide with the midterm elections. Such timing may interfere with our ability to hang on to the governor's mansion and the Senate seat. It could harm our ability to hang on to some state representative and senate seats that are up for election in 2010. It's hard to tell if we can keep those, given the disarray of the republican party in this state.

I am told that there is some very damning information out there on Blago. Much of it is on tape. I know some of the people who have gathered this information. But is it enough to convict him? I think that if he is found guilty of anything, it will be because he lied to someone.

Illinois politics is very tangled. I will wait until all the information is in before I make a final judgment.

of your own reality
and your wife stands up to the plate and eats a tarantula to
show you what she is made of.

People, let these two get their lives back and their honor
back because they were just framed
and you all know it.  The prosecutors have to wait two years
to build their case and will probably 
have to torture or bribe others to manufacture some kind of
evidence for some kind of crime.  Like bush 
and co did with the iraq war.

This shit sucks. 

But I am really proud and pleased of the way they are handing
this.  They are good people and strong people and
they will build their lives again.  Rachel Maddow can kiss my
ass on her contribution to the old boy network on this one.  
She helped to smear them.  She was a real bitch and I was
really embarrassed and ashamed of her for going there.

He's one of the prime reasons our state is in the budgetary mess it's in.

Everything he does to "help people, help the poor" is a calculated effort to look like a saint to curry sympathy and influence the jury pool.

The indictment had nothing to do with Skank of America and the severance pay issue. This thug had been under investigation for YEARS and the amount of evidence and recorded wiretaps proving his absolute disregard for law and ethics is unreal.

The only thing I regret about his indictment, is that there were no dots to connect to the other gangster running things upstate, Mayor DICK Daley. If Fitz doesn't do something about him before 2011 the voters will.

These are corrupt, filthy politicians who are living like pigs off the public dole and who operate as a criminal racket on a state level the way Bushco did on a national level.

I don't resort to partisanship when it comes to filthy, corrupt politicians... whether they're Dems or Rethugs... if they're dirty, they need to go down.

Hey, calculated efforts to do good, are not necessary fake,
nor are they crimes. 

I know you got some politics going there.  Did you see the
moment when Obama backed up Blago and agreed that BofA had to
pay severance, after Blago made that stand,?  I did.  
Suddenly it was all about politics in Chicago.  And the
conversations between Obama's team and Blago dissappeared from
the scene.  Now we find out Jackson did pay. Hell, have you
seen the contributions that politicians get from EVERYBODY? 
How are one's contributions criminal and anothers' not?  And
what happens when you contribute and your candidate goes south
and doesn't keep his word?  Is that criminal (as in DOMA?)

Look, I could care less how golden you are.  Be golden, go
right ahead and generate massive agreements for your views. I
have my own point of view, like it or not.  As as far as I can
tell, freedom of speech exists for both of us.  To each his
own.  

I like the Blago family.  Those daughters were so comfortable
and curious and trusting of both their mom and dad.  Can't say
anything about that, can you?  There is love in that family. 
There is healthy communication in that family.  Probably was
in their governing as well, my guess.
