At a the forum "Obama at 100: A Progress Report from The Nation" held on April 21, 2009 Deepak Bhargava, Executive Director Center for Community Change, lauded the early progress the Obama administration has made in reversing forty years of neglect for the poor. While Bhargava, an editorial board member at The Nation, made clear that the devastating scope of the recession has mitigated the impact of the reforms, he concluded that, "Boy, it is a new day in Washington."

1. I SURVIVE WAY BELOW

the "poverty limit", I have not seen or felt any
changes. Just more of the same. Letting the oil companies
steal from us, the MSM worries about "deflation",
and even claims prices are dropping, while all I see are
higher prices everywhere. Even after the $4 gallon of gas
excuse was used for the price hikes, no prices came down when
we had 2 months of reasonable gas prices. Then we had a huge
"glut" in the oil market, and the prices went out of
sight for gas.....not even a threat of prosecution...I worked
for President Obama to get elected and then realized.....it
didn't help....
