House Democrats introduce their plan for a 'Pay as you go' option, aka. PAYGO to help cover the cost of new programs like healthcare reform, and take care of the national debt.

1. I'm so old I remember when the Republicans wanted statutory PAYGO. The time for PAYGO
is when the economy is healthy.

4. I recall when Republicans were always yelling about a balanced budget amendment.

That went the way of the dodos. It was fairly transparent electioneering; you either have the will -- in addition to propitious circumstances, which we lack now -- or you don't.

3. Do we not have enough leadership that they can influence others??
My gut tells me this is a serious mistake. The fewer laws
the better.

I am sorry if they think this will make a good impression.

Lawmakers should do what is right. They should not have to have
laws.

Finally, the fact that Conservatives preached this at one time
makes it questionable.

It is easy to say, the law made me do it.

5. Finally! I thought my party had foresworn fiscal discipline. I'd rather be tax and spend than
borrow and spend...
