I was in college with the roomies and one with a love of old movies saw one he liked on that channel while flipping stations (I forgot what it was, but I getting into it). Suddenly, a "CBS Special Report" screen came on with the announcement that shots had been fired in Dallas at the Presidential motorcade!
A&E was broadcasting the CBS reports in it's entirety, in real time; you could see the clocks in the background and they were the same time. I got to experience what it was like, as this was a couple years before I was born. It was incredible.
