I still think it was a witty plant to blow all this nonsense up in their faces, which it has.

1. I agree--definitely a plant. Not even a good forgery. It was a bad forgery, but good enough
to rope someone in with a desperate need to believe.

5. It was fraud, and whoever put it together should be charged with a felony.

6. I think they should be given a prize, actually. Only an idiot would think that is real.
I'd love to know what you'd want to charge them with--creating a comedic document, maybe? That's like calling some of the sillier and more creative photoshops of Bush "forgeries."

10. You are too quick to dismiss.
People took those documents seriously (and probably still do). It took time and resources away from more important dialogue. Where's the outrage? You have them in the palm of your hand, and you let them go?

12. It didn't "take time and resources away from more important dialogue."
No one forces anyone to discuss this topic.

No one held a gun to your head and made you post on this topic, did they? No one forced you to "take time" or "expend resources" discussing this, did they? Exercise some self-control if this bothers you, and go to a thread on another topic. And don't rely on the Box With The Talking Opinionated Nitwits to feed you stories about "what's important."

And I don't know about you, but walking and chewing gum has never been difficult for me. People who can only think about "ONE THING" would probably not be concentrating on important news stories--if it wasn't this one, it would be Michael Jackson's will...or Todd Palin sleeping on the couch while they pretend to be getting along.

I think this one is more of a hoot than those other two, and it's fun to be able to laugh for a change--I spent eight years in abject misery, and I'm enjoying this time in the political sun. The "people" who "took those documents seriously" were frigging NITWITS. Morons. Maroons! MORANS!

People talked about it because it was interesting, amusing, outrageous and goofy. And some bozos BELIEVED it, and that was FUNNIER still.

Having them in the palm of your hand and letting them go? No, that's not it. It's called "Not beating a dead horse." You do a little pointing and laughing, and then you move on to the next GOP inadequacy. That's sorta how it rolls.

18. You are all over the place.
I'm referring to the entire Birther issue. It's not about you. It's not about you posting this topic. I don't mind having a good laugh over it, but as someone who is deep in Red-wing territory, I KNOW there are people out there who still don't get it. And I'm not going to find relief from their lunacy until you all start taking them seriously. These people are all about learning how to manipulate their own kind, and believe me, there are many who are easily manipulated.

20. Why are you AFRAID of those people? Get out a little more.
There are people in enclaves in America who like to put on white robes and pointy hoods, still.

They're not the majority.

EITHER.

The difference between them and the birthers is largely one of fashion choices.

Posting on this board is not going to convince those people you speak of who "still don't get it" to suddenly "get it."

I'm not "all over the place," I am right on the money. Stop worrying about what dumbass fucking nitwits think. You will not change their dumbass nitwit minds by fretting here, and playing the "sky is falling" game.

It's like wrestling with a pig when you engage with, or fuss over, those fools. You get dirty, the pig likes it. If you want to spend your days wrestling pigs, be my guest, but then you shouldn't be crying about it later....there's just no point.

21. You have NO idea what their intent is.
Think about mob corruption in New Jersey, put in a little Southern Comfort and you have the makings of a right-wing community. The nimrod ideas are what gives the smartest among them, the power over the rest. Until you wake up the lower part of the pyramid, nothing will change.

And sorry I can't just brush it off as easily as you do, since once you move into one of these enclaves, they control every aspect of your life. It's not America, that's for sure. Of course, if you would like to put your money where your mouth is, send me two million dollars to relocate, and we'll have a laugh over it.

22. I've lived in inhospitable communities. They don't OWN "the lower part of the pyramid" though.
They're more than a few bricks in it, sure, but there are left wing bricks in the base of that pyramid, too--lots of them. MOST of them.

A sufficient number of them to elect Democrats in the House and Senate in pleasing numbers, and to put a Democrat in the White House.

If it will cost you two million to relocate, you need to be sending ME some money.

No one tells you what to think, and no one tells you how to vote--unless you LET them. How do people "control every aspect of your life?" Mind control? Are they holding your dog hostage?

If you can't ignore the foolish assholes, you've got more problems than just living in a wingnut community or political differences. You've got perspective issues you need to work on. No one can make you feel bad...unless you LET THEM.

23. Why don't you accept the fact that you're not an ominpotent being?
And that there are enclaves in the US that you don't know anything about, or are unwilling to comprehend?

Of course, no one tells me what to think. Which is what makes living here, so difficult. Because I won't compromise my principles.

I can't imagine how it is that in this day and age, it hasn't occurred to you that in small communities, especially where there are a lot of retirees, you have people who have taken hold of some of the more influential positions in the community, and they reward or punish those who carry their water?

Think about what Sibel Edmonds experienced in the FBI. Do you think that need to stifle information in a community, is just limited to an intelligence agency?

It's human nature -- at its worst. Open your mind and get out of that perfect blue marble you live in.

11. By all means, let's just ignore it.
It's not like our Congress would be stupid enough to fall for one of those forgeries and hand over the entire country over to a dimwitted president over it.

or it might be a forgery- "Zanziboo from Kenya" doesn't have the same ring to it.

8. George Washington might have a problem today if he was
thinking about running for president. Washington was a British subject when he was born in 1732, before the colonies became the US of A. Same with John Adams, Tom Jefferson and couple of others. Prez Chester Arthur was thought to have been born in Canada ; his father was born in Ireland. Oh my!
